  1. Yellow warning for thundery showers still in place from the met for me in Darlington from 16:00 to 23:00 so we'll have to wait and see but its certainly getting brighter and warmer now which could help later on
  2. Up-to 12.4c to the 19th 1.7c above the 61 to 90 average Wouldn't be surprised if we end up with another month 2c+ above the 61 to 90 average only January came below 2c at 1.9c above average
  3. A cloudier and fresher start here in Darlington this morning Currently 13.7c I am hopeful this cloud will become confined to the coast during the day allowing brighter spells to develop inland
  4. UKMO certainly moving to a more settled spell of weather developing for all by BH Monday the odd local showers can't be ruled out but that would be about it The change to higher pressure commences on Friday from NW Scotland By Saturday pressure is higher from most northern parts so showers becoming increasingly confined to the south and south west By Sunday we are all under high pressure Temperatures would be closer to average possibly slightly above average in the south and south east at times but feeling warm for all in any sunshine
  5. ECM still going for a steady rise in pressure from BH Monday Temperatures wouldn't be as high as the past few days but still very pleasant in any sunshine with something warmer on offer later for the SE EDIT JMA also showing a steady rise in pressure I know JMA isn't used much on here but I'm fairly certain its well regarded by the met office from what Ian Fergusson said on here last "winter"
  6. Interesting run from UKMO at t144 it is now showing high pressure steadily moving closer to the UK by Sunday could be building just in time for the final BH Monday till the end of August GFS also has a similar idea Running GFS 24 hours and pressure rises not a completely dry picture but there would still be some drier and brighter spells especially in the south Then pressure falls once more GEM showing the most persistent rainfall would be in Ireland and western parts the UK
  7. Heathrow now has the hottest day of the year so far hitting 26.3°C (79.3F) beating yesterdays high of 24.5°C at St James's Park
  8. cloud is starting to bubble up with the heat of the day here in Darlington but looking at the radar no rain is in sight Currently 22.8c but the feels like temperature is 25c
  9. Official data from yesterday shows it was the hottest day of the year so far with 24.5°C recorded at St James's Park (London) Could hit 26c today as the warmth reaches its peak
  10. Up-to 12.1c to the 18th 1.4c above the 61 to 90 average
  11. Some early cloud between 04:00 and 06:00 but thats lifted now to leave another warm sunny day 17.6c with no breeze
  12. A short lived Azores high on show from ECM Op this morning Before a breakdown commences from the north west though the south would hold onto the settled conditions for another day The ECM ensemble is still going for a pressure rise later however this time it comes from the Azores rather than the NE like last night GEM on the other hand builds the Azores high in from Sunday showers become increasingly confined to the SE initially before the high moves across all the UK turning things drier and warmer for all
  13. Interesting ECM ensemble this evening with it going for a steady rise in pressure from the 26th
  14. After an unsettled week ECM shows pressure rising from BH Monday although temps would be down on this weekend the strong sun now would make it feel quite pleasant in any sunshine
  15. Yep looking like Thursday could potentially be the wettest day of the week once the main band of rain moves northwards showers follow on behind it though parts of the SE & east Anglia could miss those showers
  16. London now holds the hottest day of the year so far with 24c recorded this afternoon Should reach 25 or 26c in the south as the warmth reaches its peak
  17. Dry and very warm again tomorrow for central and eastern parts though the rest of the week showers will begin to increase whether we'll see much thunder remains to be seen but Tuesday could be the main day where thunderstorms could break out just about anywhere
  18. Up-to 11.9c to the 17th 1.2c above the 61 to 90 average With some warm nights to come the CET should continue its upward trend a good few days yet
  19. GFS 00z ensembles showing some fairly steady pressure from the 26th to the end of the ensembles runs Although it wouldn't be totally dry conditions should become less unsettled with longer dry spells and of course when your in the sun now its pretty strong so it easily makes up for any lower than normal temperatures
  20. Another dry and sunny morning here in Darlo Already at 17.3c not bad for 09:30
  21. After a warm start to the week UKMO still showing it turning fresher slowly from the north by Thursday though the SE is likely to hold onto the warmer air the longest
  22. The highest temperature of the year so far has moved to Santon Downham in Suffolk with 23.9C Should hit the mid 20's tomorrow and Monday in the south wouldn't be surprised if we hit 26c by Monday afternoon in the south
  23. Up-to 11.7c to the 16th 1.0c above the 61 to 90 average
