    The wind has cranked up a bit now. Nothing too excessive yet. Gusting to 37mph. 10 minutes average is 22mph.

    The wind is picking up nicely now, exactly the same time as the rain arrived. Love these types of nights.. cosy, occasionally glancing at the weather station when you hear a big gust..

    Pressure is on the slide now, and the wind direction is starting to move towards the southeast.

    Believe it or not, the postman has just delivered my parcel..at 6:10pm lol

    As the new super cap didn't arrive, I have it set up in my room with a lamp over the solar panel. Cha-ching!

    Super cap for my anemometer transmitter didn't arrive, so I have come up with a great improvisation.. The transmitter is now down to my main room (as I was going to do the soldering on it) as the transmitter still works during day, due to the solar panel, I've connected it back up and put the transmitter under a table lamp so it can get power to send the wind speeds during darkness. Nice workaround for tonight!

    Postman hasn't delivered the super cap, despite it being at the sorting office at 8am this morning. What a joke!

    Well I got the transmitter down. I could see a black cloud about 5 miles away and moving this way whilst I was still undoing nuts. I then got bombarded with hail and huge drops of rain. I've got to go back up to finish some cabling. It's amazing how much windier it is at 30 feet and no obstructions.

    The yellow updated wind warning has seen a reduction of the impact level.

    That was my point. The strongest winds were forecast for about an hour tonight. The amber warning for here coincided with lower wind speeds, so it was only a matter of time until that was lifted.

    My roof ladder has arrived. I've got to get the anemometer transmitter down from the chimney to fix it. Hopefully I can find a gap in the showers.

    Well I wouldn't pay any attention to app forecasts today.. it's supposed to be gusting in the high 30's here right now, but there's barely a breeze.

    Well, the UKV is certainly at loggerheads with the Met Office's thinking.. UKV gives 2 hours of 50mph gusts for here between 11pm today and 1am tomorrow. The amber warning starts at 6am and the UKV shows, high 30's to low 40's. Such disparities!

    A possible drop of 35mb in 12 hours for here. My record for a 24 hour change in pressure is 35.6mb

    I note on the UKV that the wind direction during the strongest winds for here has moved from SSW/S to SSE. Not often that occurs, if it stays like that.

    Just had a text message to say the roof ladder will be here tomorrow. I just hope the new super capacitor arrives as well. I dearly want to get my anemometer working before the storm arrives.

    Rain has finally set in. I was getting worried today, as there hadn't been any rain since the early hours of the morning.

    I remember walking back to my mates house on the Valentines day storm in 2014.. he lives in the road adjacent to mine. That whole road had no power, so we went back to mine to get some beers, and everything was fine.

    I cannot remember the last time my power was knocked out by a weather event.. I'd have to go right back to the 90's
