  1. Difficult to say at the moment. I was just looking at some obs against the forecasts, and it seems the winds are behind schedule at the moment. I'd probably punt for 11pm/12am. My recycling as been out since Friday, as the xmas schedule showed it to be 2 days behind. However, they never came around, and so everyone's wheelie bins are still out, with nearly everyone also putting extra bags on top of the bins. I can see exactly what'll happen with that.. I've got a huge separate bug full up of recycling because of them no emptying last week, it's a complete cock-up!
  2. December was an enjoyable month (weather-wise) - loved the strong winds, heavy showers and some thunder. January has started off good too. I do like the prospect of something colder though, Winter's with wind storms interspersed with cold shots are right up my alley!
  3. My own stats say otherwise for here, FK. I had less frosts in December 2017 than in December 2016. The minimum temps during those frosts were lower in 2016 too.
  4. Very damp and dark. Temp: 10.2°C - Hum: 97% - Dew: 9.7°C - Bar: 1004.94hPa (Falling quickly) - Rain: 4mm - Wind: WSW @ 14mph, gusting 30mph.
  5. Kettle and black springs to my mind! You keep saying that you'll gladly explain in a PM regarding what you mean if somebody quotes you with question marks, but why not post your clearer explanation in the first place? It would save all of the confusion- and yes, a lot of your posts are completely bonkers!

  7. 4.2mm of rain this year! Currently sunny and.. Temp: 8.3°C - Hum: 89% - Dew: 6.5°C - Bar: 997.90hPa - Wind: WNW @ 5mph. Forecasts showing that Tuesday in to Wednesday could see the highest winds for at least a year. Hoping to break another record if that's the case.
  8. Despite the lack of cold here, I quite enjoyed December's weather. Hoping for a better year, in 2018, both in life and with the weather. Happy new year to all.
  9. Heavy shower here, with gusty winds. No hail though, but a 3°C drop in temperature in 15mins, and pressure rise spike.
  10. It has been talked about in here and other threads OM. Ian stopped posting due to people taking his information and charts (meto one's he was allowed to use) and then posting it on social media as their own. He used to get a lot of stick in the mod thread - very unnecessarily so, too. I don't blame him for it either, he took time out of his busy schedule to keep some of us informed as to the Met's thoughts, but alas, his favours were abused.
  11. And the award for the biggest warning fail of the year goes too.... The MetOffice.. 11.2mm fell during the warning time. It looked ominous when i checked yesterday's 12Z, but the 18Z confirmed it. Accumulations for the past 12 hours: 43mph gusts and 24mph winds speeds around 2:30am though. Currently: Temp: 11.7°C - Hum: 91% - Dew: 10.2°C - Bar: 995.94hPa - Wind: SW ~ WSW @ 12mph
  12. Judging by the radar and the 18Z Euro precip model, it looks as though the heaviest rainfall stays well out in the channel, and not in the yellow warned area.
  13. 62.2mm of rain in the past 7 days, including today's current total. Light winds to a 36mph gust out of nowhere.
  14. A different story here @Hotspur61 .. I've seen no falling snow, I've had less frosts than last December, rainfall is about to go above average. There's been 15 days with double-digit maximums, only two cold days, the rest around average. I'm running above the MetO derived temperature average for this area. There's only been two saving graces for my liking, lots of stormy conditions, and sunshine above average.
  15. I've just had a look through the short-range charts.. a couple of troughs move in to the SW on Sunday, and creep across Southern counties. Modest CAPE levels being shown, steep lapse rates, and very cold ELT's - could be more scope for heavy showers containing hail, along with thunder & lightning on Sunday eve.
  16. I reckon it'll total more than that Karlos. 120.2 mm is my high on this station, back in January. I'm currently sat at 106.4mm. Strangely enough, sunshine is way above my average, and quite a bit above the MetOffice derived average that I calculate.
  17. I can tell you that it is categorically false. I follow that station myself, and I checked it yesterday morning - not long after we had the strong winds, it showed 97 km/h, not knots. Here's the graph:
  18. .. just a few frames from the NetWx model .. Obviously, the MetO have more models at their disposal, so I'd expect a couple of options.. 1: They might be awaiting more data, and add separate warnings. 2: They may have jumped the gun with the current ones. lol
  19. Just had another bout of activity, convective gusts close to 50mph.
