  1. Couldn't bve any better down here. 20°C - blue skies and a light breeze. Lovely!
  2. Funnel cloud just photographed by Alison Jacobs at Steart, nr Bridgwater, Somerset http://yfrog.com/mmpmhqnj
  3. When you have a pocket of unstable theta-e air coming in, that low pressure will just pull moisture in like there's no tomorrow! 4" of rain should be no problems for some people across the Midlands and Northern England. Not surprising the MO have revised their warnings, it will bring more rain in to the south west with the cyclonic flow.
  4. There's been a lot of rain and below average temops here, but i've still been wearing shorts and a t-shirt every day since the warm period towards the end of May. 15°C isn't 'cold' i don't let this weather get me down.
  5. Tipping down here, has been for the last few hours. 35.6mm so far this month, that's only a few mm off of my July average.
  6. There may be a good chance i can salvage something from the lack of thunderstorm activity here, i like the look of lowering heights down here in the south west. Parts of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and in to the Bath area will be the best places down this way, but the other concern is rainfall .. some large totals could be had due to the slack wind flows.
  7. 16°C and light patchy rain today, something more moderate about to hit my vicinity though.. 24mm of rain fell yesterday.
  8. Wareham, Dorset Jan: 51.8mm (-29.2mm) Feb: 17.8mm (-40.9mm) Mar: 34.8mm (-25.5mm) Apr: 164.0mm (+115.6mm) May: 58.0mm (+12.1mm) Jun: 174.4mm (+122.5mm) Jul: 15.6mm (-22.1mm) 2012: 516.4mm (+132.7mm) Stats can be found here
  9. Might as well start as we mean to go on .. rain! 15mm so far today, had some heavy bursts locally this morning, and it's piddling down again. Temp at 14.7°C
  10. Met Office â€@metoffice More than 111,000 lightning strokes were detected across the UK yesterday, with more than 1,000 detected in a 5 minute period. Some confusion i think!?
  11. The Met Office confirmed 111,000 strokes of lightning yesterday, yet Netweather confirmed 64,000. The Met Office supply Netweather with this data, for a fee of course .. I wonder why there's such a huge difference?
  12. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=4056143012864&set=a.4056139972788.164936.1560750608&type=3&permPage=1 A few pics of a tornado in Boughton, moving toward Ewerby.
  13. I probably had the country's most boring weather today. But it was nice reading all your reports, and it was nice to share some images i managed to find. Well done if you got a nice storm!
  14. I can't say whether this is genuine or not, but it's doing the rounds on Twitter. Sleaford in Lincolnshire.
  15. I'm a bit gutted i didn't see any lightning/rain etc .. But after seeing those reports of hail, i'm glad i didn't get that here. I have a fantastic garden and a pond, it would have beaten all my plants and pond lilys to pieces, like it did in the 80's. Quite a saddening experience to see that happen.
  16. I don't know, they didn't give a description on Twitter. My guess is somewhere in Leicestershire. I've never seen so many large hail pictures appear from this country in my life! A BBC journalist .. Rozina Sini took the pic.
  17. Temperatures went from 22c to 17c here within a very short space of time, it's gone cloudy and feels quite cool now.
