    I still look back on 2015 with great fondness! Only two actual events but they were pretty good! Hey ho, looks like the forecast was a bit off for the east of England. Definitely going to bed now....

    A very slight northward movement but negligible. At this rate if anything arrives it will be about 6am, what's the point of daytime lightning?

    Pah, the whole MCS thing has been a complete train wreck for the east in recent years, we've done better with imports from the Midlands Not holding my breath about tonight now, might see the odd popcorn storm tomorrow afternoon. Still a few months to go though.

    Can't see where the risk is for the east tbh, something dramatic will have to happen (can I be bothered to head to the east coast on a faint whim? Unlikely) Bed seems to be the more likely outcome!

    Think I'd prefer a re-run of the 17th tbh, that was fabulous (and I only had to drive a mile or so to get to a good vantage point) Let's hope there's less transition northwards and more NE....

    Looked hopeful in Norwich but that was it, caught about 10 mins of light rain in the end as it moved north rather than NE. Very nice structure to it though. Have to say the local forecast was spot on this time.

    BBC forecast just now not really going for anything much tbh, certainly not compared to other convective forecasts. At least the H word wasn't mentioned!

    I left one open once, went shopping and there was one of those 11am storms. Waterfall down the stairs scenario....

    Chris Bell on Look East just now mentioned one or two showers popping up around lunchtime in the east from the weak cold front, then continuing warm in the afternoon (no mention of anything untoward). Main BBC forecast puts the main focus on Sunday night into Monday for the south. I believe "stormy night" was mentioned!
