  1. Yawn, it's rather meh here - much as I love the hot weather I would like something "interesting" now and again, all we get is the occasional cloudy sky. Really could do with some rain for a couple of hours...
  2. Still waiting for this plume to deliver anything other than distant lightning and some muted rumbles of thunder..... Apart from Sat evening when we could see lightning on the coast, there has been nothing apart from a bit of rain. Rather IMBY-ish yes, but 30-40 miles away doesn't really cut it now, does it?
  3. Dull and overcast with light drizzle. Default Norfolk summer weather is back with a bang. Haha.
  4. Default Norfolk summer has returned. Overcast with light drizzle. Yawn. Might as well be on another planet.
  5. It's very cool (actually make that chilly) and cloudy now and no mugginess at all, which is a shame. Just been getting used to sunshine again I believe storms were forecast as well, also a shame as it seems the East Midlands and extreme SE are benefitting once more.
  6. I thought storms were forecast for the East? Not the East Midlands *cough* Anyway, now cool and cloudy, thanks to the remnants of something near the coast. Humidity has disappeared too. Barely nudging 21C, joggers back on and hoodie at the ready.....
  7. Cheers I saw the double stroke as well, thought I'd got it but sadly not! I'll see if I can get the app to download (don't ask me why but I find it virtually impossible for my S4 to connect to anything, except in Amsterdam where it updated itself on a bus....!!)
  8. Pretty little storm, not over active but nice seeing lightning at night, even if it was 30 miles away! One or two closer strikes but everything stayed east of Norwich
  9. How on earth do you get pics like these? There was plenty to see earlier but I just can't get the settings right - perhaps I was too far away
  10. Lovely sitting in the garden watching distant lightning over Yarmouth earlier It was slightly further west than last night's wasted effort so actually got to see and hear something, even though we are right on the furthest westernmost edge Not very active (about one strike every 15 mins) so no worth breaking out the camera.
  11. An unforgettable day here, perfect summer weather, hot and sunny with a pleasant breeze. My acre + of garden looks fantastic especially after that nice drop of rain this morning, nothing's been trashed or damage, haven't had to worry about looking at the radar or anything because the air here is as stable as a North Sea oil platfom Been laying paving and working in the veg garden whilst the other poor saps have been stuck indoors because it's been raining

  13. Maybe everyone in the west will sing a little quieter about the east having all the storms. Some of you are almost in double figures since Thursday, whereas this region has borne the brunt of an eventless plume. Maybe east was best in the 1980s but unfortunately that is no longer the case and seems unlikely to change. Signed, Fed Up and Grumpy.
  14. Sad isn't it? Now really warm and sunny with a fresh onshore breeze, same as yesterday so no doubt nothing will happen again
  15. The sun was out for all of 15 mins, now it's retreated behind some more southern dross This has been yet another noteworthy event in that nothing of note has happened....
  16. The sun's been out for 10 mins, now disappeared behind more dross from the south. Please keep it to yourselves - it's bad enough not actually seeing anything over the past 72hrs without getting your leftovers
  17. Haha! Love the way that MCS is still blazing away in the North Sea. Oh the irony!
  18. Everyone E or SE of Norwich seemed to get something from the earyl morning MCS, according to FB. They can't understand why I didn't. Amazing how 5-10 miles can completely scupper your chances even with something like an MCS. I've actually had more activity from a passing popcorn storm than from any MCS (when they actually appear). Mind you, their idea of a "huge storm" and mine are probably poles apart!
  19. Indeed, although homegrowns haven't been particularly active, they keep delivering excellent skies but that's really not what it's all about!
  20. Cannot believe how that MCS in the North Sea is maintaining - if that had actually tracked where it was allegedly supposed to we'd have been under the cosh for almost 3hrs. Not sure what it will take for this area to actually get something halfway decent
  21. Dear oh dear, look at all that lovely lightning-ness being totally wasted in the North Sea
  22. Yep, it always is further east these days, I'm surprised anything managed to limp along the coast rather than heading off to Benelux etc.
