Having enjoyed 4hrs of anvil crawlers and an incredible light show at around 2.30am (I counted at least 5-6 flashes/sec) near Bradenham, I was on my way home thinking it had been a jolly good night. And then the tail end Charlie cleared its throat, so I found myself back at my original location as CGs started appearing all over the place...
  6. 4th July? Kid's stuff. Only just got back in grin emoticon I've had the most FANTASTIC night and morning, lightning in every available colourway, no thunder, some thunder, constant thunder, shotgun thunder, CGs, anvil crawlers, CCs and only got wet once from the small cell which was in front of the main band. Just amazing, awesome and hopefully some pics! Must have some sleep......
  7. Active cell now nr Thetford ahead of the main area of storms (which look to stay west of my area). may get lucky with this little chap though
  8. Just texted my sister to find out, although she's S of Guildford but radar shows more just about to move into the area
  9. Best night time storm since 1992 Only side swiped but still a great light show with plenty of thunder. Couldn't venture out due to two stressed dogs (even though the other three were in the kennels and slept right through it!)
  10. I'd say the stuff to the left is going north and the stuff to the right is heading out over the coast! Might get a distant light show with a bit of luck!
  11. One distant flash, one rumble. About 40 miles away, that'll do for me, I can go to bed now I've seen a lightning
  12. One flash on the horizon and a distant rumble. I can go to bed now!
  13. Wouldn't mind just seeing a distant flash on the horizon, never mind round one (or in this locality round minus one!) I think the local forecast was pretty accurate keeping the activity to the west of the region.
  14. Looks like just a mass of light rain fringing in Oh well, the grass might be greener by the morning! Love your optimism
  15. No reports of anything moving into the eastern counties yet then. Boo hiss. Not sure I can stay up much longer!
