Nice day yesterday until the rather heavy power shower around 7.30pm - shelf cloud and pretty skies but no thunder. However after Sunday night's affair in Holland the UK will have to move to match the 6hrs of insanity we experienced!
Probably! Hopefully the Netherlands may have something for me over the weekend Very little in the way of rain today, just bog standard light stuff for a couple of hours. Has started raining again, clouds moving in from the NE.
same here, 2hrs of light rain from 1-3pm. Raining again now but coming from the NE rather than the south. Probably not more than a couple of mm today so far.
A couple of hours light rain this afternoon, bit brighter now. Feeling warmer than yesterday (thanks to lack of howling E'ly wind stripping leaves and small branches off trees).
Although still v happy with my storms this year (best year ever since about 1995), I can't possibly get through August without any - the month is historically usually one of the best for storms in this area. However I'm more than satisfied with the idea of 2 very warm days on the trot :D
First morning in ages that the Big Blue has been seen before 7pm here, a million things to do outside this weekend - not usually super humid here as we usually get an onshore breeze by lunchtime
Pfft, the North Sea claims yet another victim All I can look forward to is some light rain judging by the radar. So the forecast of rain is in fact reasonably correct
Doubt it, we don't do very well from the French these days unless it's way to the west! So annoying when the channel can't keep things together but the North Sea can keep storms going for ages....
Like most of August up here I had my storm fix in July so not overly bothered but my God I would like to see some sun this month for longer than between 6.30 and 7.30pm....
Not sure if the heavier rain to the south of Norfolk will arrive - looks like it's more inclined to pivot into the N. Sea, perhaps grazing the far east.
Funnel cloud reported near Hethel on Look East. The rain has been moderately steady so far, very useful for the garden and grazing but I bet some farmers are cursing right now!
