    Yes that fire in Norway looked pretty bad and I just noticed the film being shown by the BBC on their web site has been shoot by a media drone, the very type that was stopping the helicopter from dropping water I suppose that if we see cold weather anytime soon, everyone will be friends in the model thread for a couple of hours before the hunt for the breakdown starts. I wonder if the situation might be slightly improved by breaking it up into the short term (one to seven days) and then longer term (eight onwards), the first one being very similar to what JP reviews each night with the fax charts. i find it very difficult to follow when people are looking so far in the future only to find that they have missed something that may give a weather event the next day. Just my thoughts on an afternoon, when a year ago to the very day I was watching the snow falling and had to keep clearing the path.

    Shows how the weather in this country can be so different year on year as one year today I was watching the snow fall outside the window and was pulling the young one on her sledge around the town on the sunday afternoon. I think I may convert it into a boat as i thnk it's the only way this winter she will have any chance of using it.

    Further to the posts from various members earlier about their children and their problems, may I just say that you are really wonderfully people . This has to be the best regional forum for the stories, laughter, jokes and of course the weather.

    The other half had loads of fun trying to get back to Bedford this afternoon. i have a feeling that someone in MK (mention no names) has come up with a plan to cover the sky with loads of black smoke in order to cool the earth and start winter that way , on a serious note I worry about what might be in that smoke cloud considering the factory.

    Thanks everyone, much appreciated. i have just watched theCountryfile weather and you can see how the fronts slow down due to the block to the east and you could see the cold fronts catching up the warm on the animation for the week. It was mentioned the model thread but he mentioned the low at the end of the week would go much further south than shown.

    Poor chap who has to clear that path. Temperature on the rise here with the pressure falling, I see our gritters are on standby (if we have enough grit) for the morning depending on how quick the rain moves through and temperatures drop again. I must admit that it does feel like winter with temperatures around 5s to 6c and a very low sun although reading the other thread you would think we are waiting fro the cold to start.

    Just had a report that 2,900 tonnes went missing from Bedford Borough Council's depot on Friday night, don't worry you will be back to 100 tonnes on Monday night after I have had word with the boys

    Quick question for JP. coast or anyone. Is there a site anywhere where I can look back at the fax charts for a certain time, I am really interested in the period last year around 18th January as I think that when we had our first snow.

    Frost here this morning with a nice blue sky which is starting to fill in with cloud from the next weather system.     I thought I would pop in here to clear a few cob webs and at this rate I may have to use the tin of artificial snow provided by MKSA at the Christmas meal
