  1. Please to report we are using satellite technology to ensure that any false recordings are rejected, problem is we are sharing it with the USA and it's presently watching their snow Feels cold her tonight at 5.7c but I think party of that's due to the wind.
  2. I think there's a concrete case there for legal action in order to cement some compensation, AS would you agree
  3. I am thinking of converting the spreadsheets ready for summer and we can then have a sunshine hours cup, on second thoughts with our luck maybe that's not such a good idea. Yes everyone is winning at the moment although I think the spreadsheet might blow a fuse if I attempt to place everyone first.
  4. link re above here http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/79144-model-output-discussion-19th-january-2014-18z-onwards/?p=2903754

  6. That's what I like AS, positive thinking. Lets all chant, ITS GOING TO RAIN FOR THE NEXT FOUR WEEKS
  7. Having seen that and also the NY web cams I feel like I want to go and phone a help line
  8. That picture shows very well where the block to the east is by the rainfall totals in Northern Europe and the amount falling in the north north sea
  9. This reminds me of when i was at school (yes we had electric then) and having a new teacher whilst the our form teacher was away Scottish Highlands
  10. and that's our Pete from the triangle of doom, one of the top posters on the forum and great moderator
  11. Have you been up all night John A little warmer here this morning at 0.8c, haven't looked out the window yet but maybe that's to do with the fog
  12. Sorry I didn't want to mention that too soon, I am really sitting in the MK Snow Dome drinking coffee and looking through the viewing glass window On a weather related note it's fallen to 0.8c (air thermometer) outside so I would expect there to be ice forming on the car and the grass below.
  13. No that's fine, I didn't mean you had to copy the links. I am just being lazy and could find the post through Tamara profile if it wasn't snowing so heavy outside and i have to keep looking out of the window
  14. That must be three days non stop nigh time lamppost watching It's a shame you can't dual post so we can see what Tamara has said without having to wade through the rubbish in that thread
  15. John, When you read the latest Met Office 30 day forecast it may not be below zero temperatures but down here in our part of England I don't see very mild temperatures.
  16. If you click the share link which looks like a < next to the post number, this will give you the link reference to paste in your post.
  17. A rather cold morning here for this winter with a temperature of -1.3c, too dark to see if there is any fog although I am getting ready to remove the ice from the car. Looking at last nights thread I think we have enough material to have someone to do thirty minutes of fish jokes. I once tried to post something in the model thread and really felt out of my depth and made a real sprat of myself. See you later
  18. If your feeling snow sick, have a look at these http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21073460 http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/21064379
  19. It's amazing what DIY SOS can do to an airport these days, just a shame they bought their spirit level from a bloke down the pub
  20. It's funny when you think back some thirty plus years ago when there was no internet and no forums only the BBC weather with a more detailed view on Radio 4 what did everyone do. The only clue to the coming five days weather was the weather forecast for farmers and I remember sitting there at Sunday lunchtime with fingers crossed they would mention snow only to be disappointed and other times it was opening the curtain to see a winter wonderland. The ability to see the GFS roll out four times a day is a wonderful thing however the amount of stress it gives out should be covered by a Government health warning as I am sure the number of weather buffs going to the doctors must be having a massive strain on the national heath service. Well in terms of winter it looks cold tonight with my temperature here already down to 3.1c at 5.30pm which really is normal winter weather for this part of the world.
  21. I see we have a load of fog warnings in place from the middle of the night until midday tomorrow, suppose that's one of the downsides of having the sun and so much moisture in the ground from the recent rain. MKSA would usual post these Bedford, Cambridgeshire, Central Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Luton, Norfolk, Peterborough, Suffolk Issued at: 1303 on Sun 19 Jan 2014 Valid from: 0200 on Mon 20 Jan 2014 Valid to: 1200 on Mon 20 Jan 2014 Warning Fog patches are expected to form overnight. These could be dense in places and persist well into Monday. The public should be aware of the potential for difficult driving conditions, especially during Monday morning.Chief Forecaster's assessment Clear skies on Sunday night will allow patchy fog to form. This is unlikely to affect all of the yellow area, and there is some uncertainty over how extensive fog will become. However, where it does form, visibility is likely to fall below 200 metres, leading to some difficult driving conditions.Fog is also likely to be slow to clear on Monday, and may locally persist all day, before becoming more extensive on Monday evening.
