  1. Just had a cell fire up a few miles south of Bognor. Huge IC and IG lighting and gunshot Thunder. Anyone nearby comfirm?
  2. You means MCS? I've seen an MCC in Nigeria and they are bonkers. Our hotel pool was levelled by the rainfall.
  3. Currently in Bognor, looking south over the Channel. Peach lightning. Lots of bugs started flying about. Nature has senses right?
  4. Yes the tops are huge too. At least FL370 maybe even more than that . Latest MetOffice Significant weather chart indicates a trough heading NNE with CBs embedded bases at 030-06000ft. My money is Heading 025 degrees for directions at 15knots.
  5. My mother as we walked to dinner noticed the wind had dropped and the humidity picked up. The thundery showers we had at 130-2pm seemed to have cleared the damp squib over the channel and south coast.
  6. Hi Harry, I'm guessing it'll have a more North East direction as it hits the channel per usual. I'm in the coast in Bognor this weekend looking out over the sea. Will try post updates!
  7. I reckon Crystal Palace or Alexander Palace, they are all on hills and good views and of the heat Island.
  8. I'm in Bognor for the weekend and the storm just passing is ground shattering. Just woke me up! Lightning and booming thunder.
  9. Oh my. Here's the next powerful storm. #BlackwallTunnel is currently CLOSED northbound due to flooding. Drivers are advised to seek an alternative route. Eastway Tunnel (A12) is also flooded Southbound. Approach with care. See https://twitter.com/TfLTrafficNews
  10. I've just had my 4th storm in London. Huge cracks of thunder, torrential rain. Looks like another 4 or more are on their way.
  11. Two more looking at the radar behind this baby. Hugely active TS.
  12. The Thunder we just had in London must have just woken everyone up. Hugely loud booming Thunder. This cell is intense.
  13. Huge lightning to the West of me, must be a single cell. Seems to have died a little. Edit: Still the Jurrasic Park thunder boom.
  14. Can anyone else hear the Jurrasic Park style thunder booms in London? It's eery, and to add just seen lightning on a track of 260/255* from Central London. I think T-StormRex is angry...
  15. What debate was that? I just remember them being so frequent. 1997, since then we've had probably 2-3. Maybe 1 of those imported in the early 00s, if that.
  16. 1997 - what a year that was. I think if I am honest, that's the last time I remember a proper imported MCS in this country. Harry will remember it well, constant booming thunder, lightning flickering. Rain and this weird feeling about it all. Was scary to say the least. Tonight is nothing compared to those years.
  17. Busy busy busy! Yeah a great show indeed so far wohoo! Lots of rain, is this the only band coming through or more Convective behind it. I haven't had my mind on the weather lately, it's been pants.
  18. Oooooh where's Harry? Nighttime Summer Thunderstorms Just watching the lightning in the distance. Absolutely lots.
