  1. Just had a massive lightning strike from that lot over Clapham/Balham way. Thunder also.
  2. London had something like that back in April 2012, coming north to south during that spell of very wet and stormy weather. It was a beast. The thunder rocked half of London. I wonder if it was super cellular.
  3. MCS are normally so big that by the time the front has crossed the channel the first cells keep the rest going before re-exploding over the South East. It's an amazing sight that's for sure.
  4. This was facing south. Front seemed more stronger across the ridge (South Downs) Panorama view of the Cb skycape.
  5. I always remember May being a massive late April Showers, if we didn't get many in April - we'd get a ton in May. Let's hope as I've known May to be bonkers for storms and medium heat - mid to late 20*C
  6. That's been the story since at least 2006/2009 - I've not counted much decent storms. We have storms but not on the scale we used to get down here. It just seems to me that we are going through some sort of phase that doesn't produce the serious storms we used to get.
  7. EGLL 251450Z 26007KT 4000 -RA SCT003 BKN004CB OVC005 12/11 Q1009 SCT at 300ft, BKN CB at 400ft and OVC at 500ft, says it all. LOL!
  8. It's better than ramping Snow that was so last year - I noticed that the CET this winter was the highest we've had since way before 2007. A thing to come?
  9. Looks like the tide is finally turning. High pressure on the 500hpa Anomoanly. Let's see how long it lasts and what direction it moves, could get into the mid 20's by April if sticks around - but I am wondering if we do get stuck in high pressure if it'll become a permanent pattern leading to another wet Summer (odds on).
  10. 161.24 for the Winter so far. 88.39 mm for January 32.00 mm for February 2014 so far 120.39mm :O
  11. I was looking through CFS, seems plausible IMHO. March looks very wet/cool.
  12. What's your thoughts for this Summer, will it be a BBQ or Monsoon? Discuss and Vote
  13. Yeah, on approach now. ECAM message might have shown pressurisation problem, aircraft didn't go that high.
  14. Anyone know if Needles, Isle Of Wight reported a 109mph gust at 2300hrs? I saw it on Facebook mentioned. Had an ECAM message, is returning back to Heathrow.
  15. http://www.flightradar24.com/BAW163 just departed Heathrow but has an emergency! Possible Tech or medical issue. BAW581 from Milan and BAW769 from Oslo diverting Leeds Bradford. BAW337 which should have arrived 19:45 is fuel'd up for round 2 and is now on it's approach to Heathrow (LOL) http://www.flightradar24.com/BAW337 BA Operations must be doing there head in tonight. They have 30-40 aircraft diverted across the UK and crews out of hours. :/
  16. Lots of Diverts for Gatwick/Heathrow tonight. Quite a nightmare for re-positioning aircraft/crews especially for BA. Apparently Manchester decided to state availability of fuel issues again, so they have minimal diverts. Stansted took a BA A320 from Frankfurt with Control Surface Issues. G-EUYA. BAW769 just been playing around in the skies, diverting north somewhere. BAW581 is also diverting North, whilst BAW337 is coming back from it's divert to have another go. This looks fun!
  17. Seems to me next week will be another wet week too, let's not be so short-sighted. A very wet February.
  18. Just had lightning in London, anyone else see that in the distance?
  19. Hopefully Arsenal loose, means we stay top for a while
