  1. Was working at a campsite near Calais 20 years ago, glad I'm not there now! About to take another battering...certainly get their fair bit of wild weather up there.
  2. Looks like the Pays de Calais is going to get another pasting later too. Worked at a Campsite near Calais in 95. Had a couple of absolute humdingers when I was over there.
  3. Looks like Dungeness is going to clip a little bit of it, rest looks likely to stay in the Channel??
  4. Be a bugger to the shipping, but a Portsmouth style round fort in the middle of the straights of Dover would be a great storm viewing venue I mean, how many of those take that track? Unreal.
  5. I just think the met office should concentrate on the weather for the next couple of days and a week at the most. Long range forecasts just seem a waste of resources! Storms etc and snow in the winter are all good fun - it's just some get a bit toooo frustrated when they don't get any!!
  6. Beds isn't great for storms generally, my hometown, Bournemouth does better. Luckily I was down there visiting when the supercell arrived a few weeks ago. So suffice to say, that was my fill for a while!
  7. Looks like the Eurocamp site I worked at, Guines, near Calais is getting pasted again. Was there in 95 and boy did we get hit with a couple of beauties. One roll of thunder shook a light off a tent pole!
  8. I would have been out at home in LB, but here in Poole, out in style. Just WOW!
  9. Literally shaking. This should make the news tomorrow. Unbelievable non stop lightning, crashing thunder and blinding rain. Loads of Cloud to ground. The trip to Poole paid off!
  10. WOW! Massive forked lightning across the sky then. Immense!! (In Poole!)
  11. Good lightning looking out to the SW from here in Poole, here visiting the old dears. Obvs nothing back at home in LB!
  12. You'll be lucky. We only got those storms last summer because EVERYONE in the SE got them - and were probably better too! You should know that the area to the NW of London seems to hate storms. Now i'm off to Bournemouth tonight visiting. Better get a result..or else.
  13. Here in Camden there's nothing of note. Apart from its getting hotter as the bloody cloud is getting burnt off! This might be good for storms, but not for me. After 5 it can all kick off
  14. Yes seen the same here in LB, get a nice view SW down the Aylesbury vale from my gaff. Defo something on it's way, but I wanted to look at Venus and Jupiter!!
  15. With the wind, it seems that no mention on the forecasts means it's actually breezy, when they say it's 'breezy'? It's blowing a gale! Can't they be a bit more realistic??
  16. Dreadful isn't it, I'm sorry, the UK has the worst weather in the world. Being a runner too, if it's not raining it's windy..constantly windy. Someone turn the fan off!!
  17. Yeah typical! I'll let them have the storms as our snow is much better. As in not like once every 5 years growing up in bmth ;-)
  18. Yeah know about that up the Aylesbury vale here!! Seen many a storm turn it's nose up at LB and go elsewhere ;-) particularly galling tonight as I'm from Bournemouth. They get all the bloody storms! *stamps feet*
  19. As expected, big puddles back to LB. Must have been a decent deluge for a while at least.
  20. In Bedford, very black to the south, looks like we'll be driving back home in some heavy rain.
  21. Yep spotted that on the radar! Looked quite intense..just windy down here. Bloody wind.
  22. Yep spent the whole afternoon holding onto various tents and gazebos! What a bloody country! And the same crap all week to come. Ugh.
  23. Horrific weather, especially as outdoors all day at road relays in MK. Christ the weather in the UK is the pits, always blowing a bloody gale and pretty boring to boot. Yes, I know we don't have killer tornadoes, etc..but it's just so soul destroyingly dull.
