  1. If the flow comes from the North, some places would presumably see blizzard conditions.
  2. Surely that graph would indicate the potential for severe storms? Of course though, TT is pretty rubbish when it comes to measuring thunderstorm activity because it doens't take into account that there could be capping, really depends on your geographical position & doesn't actually take into account CAPE. If, however there was high CAPE and no capping, that graph at 60tt (max) would indicate some pretty ferocious storms.
  3. There has been 9 sporadic burglaries in and around my town over the last 48 hours. Most of them done between 12am-6am, this is a very safe town normally so this has scared us all. This is exactly why street lights need to come back on. I've always hated the way councils try to save money before the safety of their citizens.
  4. Why do we NEED a stratospheric warming? Other parts of the northern hemisphere do just fine without one. Genuine question.
  5. Slightly lower pressure over Italy, come on 18z, show us why you're the pub run!! EDIT: Am I on my own, narrating the model run lol?
  6. If it's any consolation, the 18z is looking slightly better than the 12z. Energy digging further SE, slightly higher heights over Scandinavia & slightly more ridging in the Atlantic
  7. Maybe, just maybe we need Arnie on the case. But seriously, the models are all over the place at +120h, all of them show something different at that time frame. It could still swing the other way.
  8. To be fair, the difference between the GFS, ECM & UKMO is substantial, so therefore they must be struggling with the low around the 15th. ANYTHING can happen from that point.
  9. Starting to get warm in Buffalo, NY. Monday's maximum was -12.3 according to their weather statistics. Currently it's +2.5C. Massive swing!
  10. And again at the +90h mark! More of a squeeze towards the continent!! Hopefully by +120h, heights will start to fall across Southern Europe. 06z 12z
  11. I know a lot of people tell others not to look too closely into the model run but the 12z certainly has more of a negative tilt towards the SE on that low which is a good sign at least! (Slight differences make all the difference!) 6z 12z
  12. As the saying goes, she can tell me the winning lottery numbers. +120h is the critical point now.
  13. The North & North-East are finally creepy up to the plus temperatures for the first time in 10 days! Buffalo: Monday: -15.7C Current: -1.7C Tomorrow: +10C Temperature difference: 25.7C Chicago: Monday: -24.7C Current: -0.4C Tomorrow: +3C Temperature difference: 27.7C New York City: Monday: -11.3C Current: +0.1C Tomorrow: +15C!!!!!!! Temperature difference: 26.3C
  14. Which could bode well if you are looking for snowfall across Eastern areas, as the cold mixes in?
  15. I'll tell you one thing, I've seen a lot of worse places down South, Hull has always had a bad reputation but once I got there, the city centre is actually rather nice! Granted the rest of the city isn't fantastic but every city has its grotty areas.
