  1. It seemed contraty to my thoughts posted last night, see last post in this thread, the NWP have responded! Summer 2013 going to get underway this weekend!
  2. I expect to see the global temperature continue to increase, the artic will continue to melt it seems & more extreme weather to come along especially in those areas that are not used to it!
  3. Clear skies now been replaced with cumulus clouds. Temperature upto 8c. Wind coming from West @ 13mph.
  4. Morning All.. Summer is coming! A decent week for us down in the SE, plenty of sunshine, from tomorrow lighter winds too so feeling warm in the sunshine.. Next weekend looks proper nice after Saturday, with temperatures heading upto 18c, 20c will be reached if this comes off.. Looking good for a sustained spell of warm weather contuining into next week at this stage!
  5. Models coming into agreement with high pressure becoming dominant once the trough moves through saturday.. Sunday & Monday look decent with temperatures responding upto 16c widely, with 18-20c likely for those in SE.
  6. GFS keen on high pressure over the british isles for 2nd week of may!
  7. Well as for summer 2013, i wouldn't mind more of the same of the past week, was warm last week with sunshine, bloody lovely! Last few days been some decent sunshine but just not warm enough, so add a few degrees on and light winds and i'll be satisfied!
  8. There will be a balloon flyout for the Lord Mayors Regatta soon.... http://www.lma-regatta.org/ Temperature here 7c with cloudy skies and patchy light rain at times, wind howling though. Looking forward to some settled weather this week with sunshine :-)
  9. Agree with Milhouse's comments above, also i believe that we end up balancing out in the end, after a horrible 12-18 months of mostly northern blocking i believe we will see a more high pressure and dry summer, mother nature will sort it out!
  10. Evening All, another mild night, haven't been on for over 3 weeks as have been busy with other things! Temp here 13c, muggy and clammy!
  11. So the GFS has thrown up a cold easterly for midmonth on the GFS 18Z run as Crewe.Cold has said...
  12. Yes, i would say perhaps a cold unsettled outlook is possible like the ECM keeps showing with that system heading our way and lingering. But with some settled weather thereafter... Or The azores high ridges to give us some spring warmth, though still some chilly nights as you would expect for spring.. like other model runs have hinted over last few days.. Definitely going for the less cold scenario, but like you said, unsettled & cool? Warmer, settled?
  13. Interestingly, just what i was refering to, look at the high as that system exits the uk, slowly. We pull up a high pressure and builds over us... - From this..... to this... So as a weather system heads into the UK, high tries to sneak northwards in behind... Well thats the GFS 18z run lol But the high has us on a bitter easterly side, with some cold air coming our way again, it is the GFS and the pub run though..
  14. Unsettled weather for the UK, less cold however but wet... But look our old friend the azores high is waiting to pounce :-)
  15. Interestingly the last few days and i have noticed last two weeks, when the sun has come out, it has felt very nice... Not that i'm searching for the shorts and flip flops just yet..
  16. Just spotted an article which has a picture from saturdays match, i'm in it... The one with the arms in the air enjoying Oxford city making it 2-1 lol The picture could of been better, as at this point a proper dark snow shower cloud was above, would of made the picture more interesting for those that like there convective clouds!
  17. 8.4C for me. Sorry its late, but haven't been online for a few days.. A cold dry start, unsettled cool midmonth, then warm end to april.
  18. A very cold month, with 8 days of snow falling, with Sunday 17th march seeing 4cm from 8:30am to 11am. Then 6 days later Rain turned to snow with 5cm falling on shotover hill across the road from mine. But through most of my life time march has had a mix of nice settled spring warmth and some cold transitions, but never a month where we saw easterly winds for the most part with weather systems bringing snow, and plenty of snow showers. Incredible march stats broken left right and centre, i'm sure there wont be many March's like this through my lifetime!
  19. Evening all. Been very busy over the weekend so haven't really had much time to post on here. Saturday saw some lovely shower clouds form and we had a brief snow shower at 3pm. Followed by sunshine which at Oxford City FC felt very nice, before another dark shower at 6;30pm just squirmed past here, though heavy south of here... Lucky gits! Went for a lovely walk yesterday afternoon felt warm when the sun came out, but today felt raw in that wind especially with the cloud! Though evening very nice and lovely pinkish sunset! Hope you all had a great easter weekend!
  20. Morning All. Happy Good Friday. Enjoy your easter weekend despite the big freeze. I'd rather be ballooning, but eating easter eggs and going to football will be the order of the weekend P.S Mrs Bunny has some choccy treats for all of us
  21. All the best Stew! Your informative forecasts and posts on this forum has made me and i'm sure many others hooked on long range forecasting and what drives our weather. Netweather's loss is another companies gain. I wish you every success in your new job.
