  1. Numerous outbreaks over very heavy hail and rain since my last report. We are now on thunderstorm six or seven of the day. The next town has a powercut, and the lights here are flickering badly. Very loud rumbles of thunder, and I am being treated to a spectacular lightning show over the hills. One of the most active days I can ever remember.
  2. Here we go again, for the third time today. Torrential pea sized hail, ground covered. Huge thunder (lights flickering) a few flashes of lightning. It's gone so dark. The lamposts are on! EDIT: two very beautiful rainbow's to cap it all off, followed be an incredible clap of thunder and a flash of lightning.
  3. Torrential hail shower at about 3pm. Near whiteout conditions for a time, hail lay on the ground for 30mins or so. Many flashes of lightning and thunder, followed by one huge forked flash and the loudest thunder I have ever heared. Torrential rain continued for around 20mins longer. Temperature plummeted in the storm, down to a very cool 8.8C for a time. Could see my breath. Now pouring down with some hail, and a distant rumble of thunder.
  4. After a very wild night (heavy driving rain and strong winds), there are plenty of heavy blustery showers about, light breeze, but with some short sunny spells. Temperature dropping sharply in the showers, down to 10C, up to 13C in the sun.
  5. What a morning! Moderate rain from 9-11. Torrential, driving rain started about 11.30 and lasted until midday. Very strong, cold winds through the rain, which lowered temperatures to a pitiful 11C for a time. Now very overcast, windy and foggy on highest hills. Only 15C.
  6. Very overcast, mist on hills, occasional outbreaks of drizzle, which is very blustery in strong SW wind. 19C.
  7. I'm very surprised by how foggy it is today. Driving was down to a crawl on the higher routes up until lunchtime, when the fog lifted a little. After a few heavy showers, the fog, low cloud and occasional drizzle is back. 20C.
  8. Been a very wet morning. Very heavy, blustery showers. Very foggy and overcast. 20C.
  9. After a very sunny start, the sun has now become very hazy and a hot breeze has picked up. Feeling humid. 24C.
  10. The air seems to be very clear here too. Another gorgeous day. Clear blue skies, little or no breeze, 23C.
  11. The fourth lovely day. The morning started grey and misty, with some light rain. This soon cleared, and now we don't have a cloud in sight and there is a slight breeze. Feeling very warm, though not as warm as yesterday. 23C.
  12. After an overcast, very muggy night (min 16C), this morning has dawned sunny and warm, misty at first. Current temp 19C. Another very warm and sunny day on the way.
  13. Clear blue skies. What a difference a few hours make. Cloud, fog and drizzle is gone. Slight breeze. 18C.
  14. Been a lovely 24 hours. Early this morning, apparently there was a light frost on the cars! Today has been great. Clear sunny skies but with a cool breeze, especially in the past hour or so. Just 13C.
  15. Beautiful night. Not a cloud in sight, full, bright moon shining off everything Very calm, so it feels quite chilly - 9.5C.
  16. Heavy drizzle, squally and blowing in strong breeze. Feeling quite cold because of the wind. About 13C. Wasn't ecpecting the rain until dawn. :?
  17. After a good sunset, it's now mainly clear but with a little cloud about. About 17C.
  18. It does look like some parts of South Wales have had it bad http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/3559152.stm Many of the places in there are within 2 miles of me. Meanwhile, cloud is increasing to my SW with a distant rumble of thunder...
  19. I don't know how to describe it, just everything overflowing! Very loud thunder, regular lightning, strong winds, no sign of any brighter skies. I'd say 2in of rain already.
  20. Very torrential rain and hail! A few very loud rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning. SkyTV has stopped working! Been going on all morning The streets are like rivers! I think we're catching up with the North on the rain totals This is crazy! The TV keeps freezing up, regular flashes of lightning and thunder and it's pitch black and still raining torrentialy! Oh and the lights are flickering. The thunder is deafening and no sign of any brighter sky.
  21. There's going to be one hell of a storm. It's gone very dark indeed, many of the clouds are dark brown and grey, the first large drops of rain have begun to fall and the wind is picking up!
  22. From what I can tell it's just as opressive as a year ago today. Just got back from a day out to Mid- Wales. It was 21.5C going up at about 11.30. It was warmer coming back at 23.5C. Been mainly sunny all day, though with plenty of huge fluffy comulonimbus cloud about the place. Was very cool when the breeze blew Temp now down to 21C and rather cloudy.
  23. Wind really picking up. Moderate to strong gusts. Spells of light rain.
  24. Very overcast. Has been for hours. A few spots of rain now and then. Light breeze. Muggy at about 20C.
  25. Nicer than I expected. Clear blue skies though the sunshine is a little hazy. Not as warm as of late. 24C. Gentle cool breeze.
