Expecting nothing but cold rain down here in South Devon later on. Won't be surprised to hear snow reports bit further inland though, could be a frustrating day tomorrow
Higher parts of the moor certainly but many low lying places even away from the coast will struggle

I can't see it snowing here in Cornwall for the most part...
Like it's forecast being 5/6c here...
Agreed it seems a really strange warning.

Met office doubling down on the snow and ice warning now have expanded the area to include cornwall and suggest more intense snow Wednesday evening. Would suggest the track is still open to change?

It’s bound to rain in Plymouth. If we barely get anything in Dec 2010 and March 2018 this isn’t going to deliver Jack.
I'd say chance of snow in Plymouth is about 1% unfortunately

Bust number 1
Plain old rain with temps of 2.3c and DP 1.7c
I'm waving the white flag already!
As far as I'm concerned, the sooner this cold weather does one, the better.
Surly met office need to update weather warnings to discount snow from certain areas? Heavy rain tonight and tomorrow now forecast in alot of Devon and Dorset unless you are 300 metres above sea level!

I’m completely fed up!! Not seen laying snow on IoW for 5 years!!! Was hoping we’d see some this week but no every other buggar in the south probably will but never us!!!
Unless we get a SSW in December or early January and even then we manage to roll a 6 I think snow along the channel Coast is getting increasingly difficult

Latest UKV shows the central part of Wednesday's channel runner to be a fraction further north - not by much - but enough to make it likely to be rain on the coast. Parts of Devon/Somerset/north Dorset could do quite well.
Oh dear this ties in with the latest forecast for here as rain rain and more rain!

Never trust an app but the met office app for me has continued its downward trend from snow for 12 hours to rain and sleet for this part of the moor for tuesday and Wednesday Even Princetown now has sleet in the forecast. Might upgrade overnight but so much uncertainty!

In a more stable set up you'd expect warnings out already for Wednesday but the track of that low is so unknown that I think any warnings will come late tonight or this time tomorrow and even then like today's it will be full of caveats
Astounding thought though as you say just over half a days cold air in place before being attacked by the milder air from the south west.

Yep. Seems that way. I guess this is why we all love the magic of a snow chase
Work efficiency takes a nose dive during these type of weeks....

Blimey the ECM snow depth model makes interesting viewing. I think the thoughts are all options available no one has a scooby do of what's going on. Head outside window to see what's occurring!

Still a weak signal for some light snow in my location Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Intensity looks light and might well slip south. Feels a similar set up that we had in January.

MOD thread will be unbearable if starts snowing North of Worcester. Think I'll settle here have a nice cold pint and wait till all this blows over

Grey and cold here. 3.3c. Looking ahead faint signal for some light snow on Wednesday. But that shallow low pressure responsible could just as easily head south to France.

The UK Met going for 60% chance of the low on Thursday / Friday crossing southern areas, with the cold block putting up more resistance than some runs are showing. 20% further north with rain in the south and 20% further south, with the precipitation in north France.
Still all to play for!
Hopeful for a good set of 12zs
Cornwall seemingly out the game and I'd imagine south devon too. Dartmoor and north Devon eastwards though based on that video are in with a chance if the 60% scenario rings true

The GEFS shows a general trend for warming towards the next weekend:
I think they are WAY too ambitious on the snowfall measure!
a case of two months too late, if this was the first week of January............
I know weather apps are not the be or and end of but looking locally next weeks max temperature for my locale are 5-7c. Not exactly snowman weather!

Local weather still believing! He did say coastal areas all rain. Went on to say exmoor Somerset North Dorset could get 5-10cm with tomorrow afternoons front
But for me beside the little snow for this area will be the return of wind and rain so absent for almost 8 weeks!
