    One distant rumble of thunder in Derby,with very heavy rain.Overcast skies now,but hoping for more later.

    Storms now visible south of Derby,wouldn't be suprised if I hear thunder in the next half an hour now!!

    Very similar here Speedway,we had promising skies around 1800 hrs but these soon drifted over producing a very light shower.Then when taking the dog out at 20.15 we a short sharp shower but nothing more.Seems like the Leicester Shield and Derby Dome will stand for a little longer!!.

    .Yeah very threatening skies here just north of Derby.I'm in the garden listening for thunder.but nothing as yet!!.Had to switch kitchen lights on as it's getting so dark.

    I've said this countless times now,and it usually amounts to nothing,butsomething looks to be brewing to the south of me moving Nw.Think it will miss me though,very black skies with impressive towers rising.

    Skies starting to look more promising here,with some big grey towers rising to the south.

    Still think there's too much cloud here at the moment,although it does still feel very muggy outside.

    Doesn't look like we'll get anything here tonight now too far East..Not had a decent storm here since 2009.I even missed that beast that hit Nottingham on 23rd July last year, that time I was too far west by about 6 miles!!.Might start calling this area the "Derby/Denby Dome!!

    Current cell to my south has just exploded,but looks certain to pass SW of here.

    I can see some cells firing up to the south of here,and looking at the radar the showers and storms are starting to develop slightly more to the east than earlier.Its a slim chance I know but could I possibly get a storm tonight?!!.

    The cumulus clouds here are now developing some really dark bases but are moving at a fair pace on the strong breeze.Cant rule out the possibility of a shower before the day ends.

    Some heavy squally showers developing over the Midlands now,just had one pass over Derby with heavy rain and gusty winds.Looking promising Wolverhampton way as I speak.

    Something definitely brewing south of Derby,eerie black skies with a strengthening wind.I'm getting the washing in!!!.

    Starting to look interesting here now very dark clouds building from the Se.A really humid feel here too.How far north are these showers/storms likely to get?!.

    There's a pretty impressive hailstorm in Glasgow at the moment,according to sky news.The reporter was absolutely soaked!!,pitch black skies too.A few showers breaking out over the north midlands now,though nothing special yet.

    Some cumulus/towers bubbling up to the NE of here now,visible in the cloud breaks.Maybe things are starting to develop!!

    After spells of heavy rain this morning the sun is really getting to work now and it does feel muggy.Think I'm too far north for any action today but who knows!!..

    Just had a splattering of large raindrops in Derby.The sun is really getting to work on the cloud,but I feel I'm too far east for any action later!!

    Saw a brief snow shower in January whilst at work in Derby,but have seen no falling snow at my home address.Also had a slight dusting of snow whilst on holiday in Westhope,Shropshire on Jan 26th,but again have had no lying snow at home all winter.

    A cooler cloudier day here with only limited sunny spells.Warm in the sun but rather cool under the cloud with a chilly Ne wind.A high of 15c today compared to 20c yesterday.

    Something could be brewing to my Nw,very dark skies and some large drops of rain here in Derby,nothing on the scale of the West Midlands though!!

    The sun is burning through the cloud here,and it feels warm in it.Some big cumulus now bubbling up,so could be promising for later.Had no thunder here since January 26th,so even one solitary rumble would do!!
