  1. Still not a sausage in Denby,Derbyshire!!.Edit at last my first flash and crash!!.At last to my SW.
  2. i'm constantly looking south but as yet have seen nothing.must be all this light pollution and being stuck in a valley!!
  3. .Yes again Bournemouth is the place to watch, but I don't think the lightning is so severe tonight as last night not so many C-Gs.my own opinion.
  4. was thinking the highest place around here would be Alport Heights, which gives 30 mile views to the SW.But with all the tall masts might not be the best place in a thunderstorm!!
  5. i'm stuck down in the valley between Kilburn and Holbrook.Where in Belper are you.I'm not jealous at all, honest!!.
  6. Thunder to the east of Derby with very threatening skies. Its a battle between the showers and sun at the moment with the showers winning.Feeling very muggy as well.
  7. Showers now moving into the midlands, gone very dark to the Sw of here, nothing electrical as yet.Still very warm and muggy here though
  8. Skies have turned hazy here now with some dark clouds starting to bubble up,wouldn't be surprised if we got shower later.Very warm too with temps around 24 degrees.
  9. Deadly black skies to the south of here with rain visibly falling also very dark to the east. These showers/storms seem very slow moving, think we're just too far north though in Derby to get anything!.
  10. The day dawned dry and clear with unbroken sun until around 10am.Showers then moved in from the north which gave intense but very localised downpours with headlights and windscreen wipers on full around 2pm.The showers then died out until an hour ago but have returned again now with more heavy downpours atm.
  11. Yawn!!,just a very brief light shower here around an hour ago.Slightly annoying as we were in the prime position at lunchtime should any action have kicked off around here.
  12. Biblical rain in Derby with lightning and sharp cracks of thunder. The wind has really picked up too.4 consecutive days of thunderstorms here now.
  13. Just had 3 huge cracks if thunder in Derby, how we missed those earlier cells I will never know!!
  14. Not been a bad weekend here. There's been more thunder and lightning today and yesterday than all of last year put together. This afternoons storm produced really gusty winds on it's back edge along with pea sized hail.Yesterdays storms were pretty short lived but still produced heavy rain and decent rumbles of thunder.
  15. That's the first overhead storm I've witnessed for around 4 years,I counted around 25-30 flashes of lightning most of which were high in the clouds with lovely deep rumbles of thunder.I'd say the storm lasted for around 20 mins. Not bad at all.Still feels warm and humid, could we gave more before the day is over?!.
  16. Nothing more than a heavy shower here in the end.Two quick photos I took before it rained.
  17. I can now see that cell just to the SW of Derby, the sky has turned jet black and the wind has really increased in strength, nothing electrical as yet but if it could strengthen, who knows!!.
  18. Dark clouds building here with the occasional splattering of large raindrops.Feeling warm in the sun.I feel that any showers that do develop will move through quickly on the strong SE breeze.
  19. 2nd storm of the morning I've seen, plenty of deep rumbles of thunder here in Derby, the lightning seems very high based in the clouds.Just starting to rain hard now!!.
  20. Extremely heavy rain now in Denby for the last hour, really muggy feel to the air as well. These showers seem to be gathering strength as they push NW.
  21. Apparently the lightning from the crack of thunder I heard at 1.30 am this morning hit a house in Belper. The owner has just been into my work to buy a new fuse box.Threatening skies here as I speak.
  22. Been pretty poor here today tbh.We had around 15mm of rain overnight,1distant rumble of thunder around 4.15 and steady rain ever since, with a temperature of around 14 degrees.
