  1. I keep feeling disappointed with the models but then i remember last winter, it took a while for us get the Easterly, but it happened eventually and boy did it deliver
  2. Had a bit of a break from checking Netweather recently as we've had some pretty bog standard autumnal weather, nice to come back on and see some lovely cold charts!
  3. Josh Morgerman on twitter proclaiming Michael to be one of the nastiest and scariest hurricanes he's been in, bare in mind that this guy has experienced probably every single notable hurricane of the last decade or 2 and even travelled to the Philippines to intercept Mangkut last month
  4. Any word from Brett Adair? Michael now apparently the 3rd strongest to make US landfall, anyone know the 2 that were stronger?
  5. Well that was fun, plenty of flooding here now after that squall passed over
  6. Stronger gusts buffeting the car now, I've taken refuge from the monsoon underneath the local Tesco
  7. Monsoon like conditions here, extremely heavy rain, surface flooding everywhere, not particularly windy yet though
  8. Heaviest stuff North of here heading your way by the looks of things Pit
  9. Very heavy rain here, already plenty of reports of localised flooding, wind picking up and it's very dark out
  10. Jeff Piotrowskii streaming here, unsure of his current location **just heard he's located North of Wilmington near Topsail beach**
  11. Bigger swells now starting to show up at the Frying Pan I wonder how much longer the flag pole will survive
  12. Same here of course, a truly dreadful storm season, i thought last year was bad but this year has reached a new low! So far i've recorded a mere 2 thunder days, with no overhead thunderstorms at all. The last overhead storm to hit here was way back on July 20th 2016. I did witness the Sep 13th 2016 storm but that moved north over the Peak District so wasn't technically overhead here.
  13. Oh yeah i totally agree, id take a couple of plume setups with powerful storms over thundery showers any day. It probably only feels like we've had a thunder free summer due to the total lack of storms in June and most of July, i know late April and May delivered some cracking storms
  14. Well it's a long way off in model terms, but we now have another potential plume next weekend, heres to a thundery August after what's been a glorious but slightly thunder free summer so far.
  15. Different detection networks I assume, I think, If anyone can confirm this, that Netweather uses lightning data from the Met Office? The type of storm also seems to make a big difference, i.e elevated or not
  16. Thunder heard here last night and this morning, however both from elevated storms with no visible lightning We are now yet to have an overhead thunderstorm with good T+L for over 2 years, the last one being July 20th 2016
  17. Well East Yorkshire has certainly been the hotspot for storms yesterday and today, the main area of activity now crossing the Humber and heading North.
  18. Awesome radar structure on that storm in North Yorks Possible hook echo showing there?
  19. Lovely hail core on that storm near York, big hail, pic from twitter
