    2 cold days with snow for some, followed by a return to average temperatures, could be a lot worse!

    Its 10 days away when the cold conditions leave though, so time for plenty of changes, and some of them changes could be to extend the cold spell. If the models forecasted it the other way round; mild temperatures at days 7-9, and cold at day 10 then would anyone really take it seriously?

    The ECM has -8 uppers over the whole of the UK, with -10 uppers over parts of Scotland at day 8 and 9, how is that not cold?

    The weather will do what it wants, the models do not know what will happen yet, so don't worry about a thing!

    I'm very surprised and disappointed, I just assumed that Paul would be asking me to issue the winter forecast, given my advanced knowledge on long range forecasting... Jokes, I'm liking the forecast Chiono!

    Hopefully this trend builds from FI and continues into reality ocean, the GFS 18Z is heading in the right direction.

    What is interesting about mild, gray and wet weather? Weather fans who don't like snow and cold..no such thing in my book.

    The next northerly chase is on then! it'll get down to 96 hours again and then a shortwave will pop in to say hi and ruin everything, but I'd rather it show a northerly at 240 hours than a south westerly.

    Frosty, you seem to have turned from an extremely optimistic person to an extremely pessimistic person overnight. The Met Office, as Fergie has said are not confident in something what may or may not happen in 10+ days time. I see no reason at all to think we will return to zonal weather looking at the various model outputs.
