Is it me or has that heavy band of snow slowly nudged east in the last hour or so?
It has pivoted but it seems to have moved slightly north east?
Around 6pm a band of very heavy precipitation formed of France which looks like to be hitting the south east.
-
How's it looking for Crawley?
-
Radar is looking very good

Steering winds are almost due north (700hPA) which is what counts
Makes sense, thought I was going nuts lol

mate, it's impossible, the wind is from east and quite strong
That's what I thought but I am obsessively following every frame on between radar and it seems to be shifting. The radar is not perfect though.

It's definitely moving east!!!!

Looks like the low pressure is coming towards South East

Do you think it'll make it this far East of the region that soon? It looks to me that it's following what the HIRLAM has proposed which means if it follows it's current track it won't be over to us till the evening, and even then how far East it makes is still debatable.
Are we talking about evening today?

No snow for me now in Crawley according to metoffice. Hopefully wrong
-
Met ofice seem optimistic for Crawley if anyone is interested.
We are down for continous snow from 10am to 3pm.

3-4 cm around here I would say, I'm slightly off the beaten track (if possible in these parts!), there's not too much traffic moving so despite it being fairly light in nature, small flakes, it is starting to build.
Interesting, thanks.

What's the best radar to use other than the netweather one?

Where are you?
I was in Amberley, near Arundel today. Beautiful, but snow free, apart from a few shady spots
Crawley. Its looking good on the radar.

No, my son is due to fly from there tomorrow morning. Would love for you to get some snow...but I also hope his flight isn't cancelled.
Streamers are funny things! It has been snowing in north Hamshire for a few hours - probably an extra couple of inches so far
ah fair enough.
We weren't scheduled to see any snow before 8am tomorrow. And I don't think we will see any snow tonight.

snow Getting heavy now here - patient all day but moderate 7/10 snow setting in - near blizzard conditions
It seems crawley is the only place with snow, it's just going around us.
Is their anything scientific reason for this?
Genuinley interested lol.

Just piling in.. Don't get it not in many models if any
It's not on any models because this is all coming from cold air picking up convection from the reletively warmer sea.
So essentially this snow is coming from "nothing". There is nothing producing that snow. It is random and the models cant pick up on something coming from nothing. You can't model what isn't their.
