We keep seeing the GFS pushing the trough through however earlier in the run now we see the flow sharpening up north > south
so with that in mind I would say this for me is the most plausable outcome so thats what im forecasting.

I judge a cold spell by the fact if it is snowy and cold enough to use the sledge.
The last few times I used it was in 2008, 2009, 2010. Those trio of winters from 2008-2010 were incredible.
Since 2010 I have only used it once in Jan 2013 which highlights the rubbish state of our winters!!!!

Heavy rain forecasted to start at 7pm for where I am. The problem is I'm set to play tennis outdoors at 7pm
Any chance the rain could miss Crawley?

Some of this cooler weather wouldn't be a bad thing. It has become impossible to sleep at night. Also working during the day.

Lol, a mate spent hours trying to get a fan yesterday, went everywhere he could think of, all sold out. Even Amazon all sold out, earliest was next Thursday! Same happens each time there's hot weather, I'd love to know what people do with the fan they bought last year?!
I have three large fans at home and there is a ceiling fan in the conservatory

This short action film from the ECM (warning! No sex or violence...) clearly indicates that the warm/hot upper air will be pushed far away to the south and east over the next ten days and colder North Atlantic air is soon knocking on our door:
My admittedly limited knowledge of these charts interprets this to mean that many areas will experience below average temperatures for the rest of this month. However, we will soon be looking at reliable charts for July which may well bring more memorable summer weather.

Cool thanks
Don't worry about it jinxjng it lol. But let's say it survives the crossing, will it hit crawley?

Sorry to hear that
Do you reckon it's gonna rain at 9 pm in Crawley/horsham like BBC weather are saying?

Gritters have NO chance this eve
rain to snow means the rain washes away the grit & when it snows theres not enough time to recover anything other than major roads = Chaos
looking out the window here in Eltham pondering the journey home @615 secretly hoping to get stuck
if not a snow drive to bluebell hill !
In your opinion has there been a downgrade or an upgrade in the last couple of hours?
In my area it is now showing some sleet where there was snow.
-
I checked BBC weather and it looked like there was an upgrade BUT it says we will have sleet at 9pm after all the heavy snow
