  1. Its snowing very unexpected lets hope this is a good omen because even now the met says its raining here but its snowing quite heavily. Let it snow.
  2. Need to dip a fair bit more looks like a washout tonight and tomorrow, chance of light snow Friday, check our fergie interesting tweet though so all is not lost if the SW might get snow surely we have a chance.
  3. From an imby point of view. The cold digs in to late for central and southern UK which means it's just more rain I hope there's still time for small adjustments in the models. Otherwise it's just the same but with cold rain then from Friday nite onwards just looks dry as a bone. Although our friends up north will welcome a dry spell I still can't' see a pot of a gold at the end of the rainbow. Although those with elevation will do well out of this.
  4. Yes it does seem Thursday will be wet rather than white now, Friday a better chance with light snow showers, the Peak District should get a lot of snow Thursday though.
  5. There was some definite sleet in the air today bodes well for the rest of the week we just need ppn. Met says snow on Thursday and Friday, bbc UK forecast shows rain, local weather our Shef shows snow to higher ground but chance for low levels, Anyone else confused. It's going to be that good old Lamp post watch.
  6. Oddly enough met have me down for snow Thursday and Friday I don't think they have a clue at present plenty of time for changes.
  7. Last nights snow chart was to good to be true this morning the gfs mixes in the dreaded mild sector, still gives us a chance for light snow on Thursday. But with the other models being different once again anything is possible.
  8. Shaky from a Imby point of view me and you should be rooting for the gfs tonight gives the Midlands a significant snow event lol.
  9. Yh for almost all the UK bbc temps don't Look that cold on Thursday it has the midlands at 4c we need temps to drop lower for any snow, surely the gfs can't be that far of the mark at such a timeframe. My boyfriend thinks I am loosing it i have my phone checking met and bbc forecasts. And my tab looking at all yours guys and gals great posts. The last week has been unlike no other and still there is a stalemate between UKMO and GFS with ECM giving us a middle ground evolution. It's a full time hobby lol.
  10. very true but still worries me the lack of ppn they are seeing also met app is similar but that is as equally as useless. Last update shows rain through most of Thursday morning and afternoon with snow for an hour lol. Like you said they are useless.
  11. You will see some nice frosts this week but according to the bbc weather not much ppn about from wed to sat and any that does fall will be a sleety mix I do hope they are wrong. So at present cold and dry with some sleet or snow in the hills is there forecast. Still time for change though. We need that Cheshire gap to start brewing lol.
  12. Mucka I don't know what to make of this run seems to collapse the ridge again but leaves better heights in Greenland so confused
  13. Nice last few hours have been crazy with much more snow potential on offer let's hope those daffs look more like snow drops at the end of the week lol.
  14. Yh for the Peak District but for us lowly lot no just cold rain.
  15. Yh check out the pub run lol , this is going to go down to now casting because the models have gone awol.
  16. Well spotted and leads to a much stronger ridge down the line so the gfs moves towards the UKMO lol. What next.
  17. Hi dancer nice looking charts but the bbc latest forecast didn't show much at all except for high ground, they might be playing it safe but there was also not much ppn on there charts. As you said though things will change. Let's hope the midlands thread is buzzing next week, pub run time so more drama to come no doubt.
  18. Just seen the bbc forecast it doesn't give many areas snow, mainly the hills of northern England and Wales. Hope things change. The charts seem to suggest more ppn than the bbc show for Thursday and Friday.
  19. Has anyone got a link for the verification stats for the GEM suddenly it's my favourite model lol.
  20. Can't believe this is not sorted out now as it enters the reliable two totally different evolutions UKMO badly trying for the Greenland high, while in the other corner we have gfs backing the Atlantic and wanting to flatten our lovely ridge. There's only one thing for it Fightttttttt.
  21. mucka is it me or are the models trying to go full circle to what they were showing a few days ago still not quite there but not far off. Exception gfs but even that looks better. Rare for upgrades long may it continue.
  22. Yh you look in a sweet spot for a pasting, but with the models struggling it's hard to take anything at face value, but it does look odds on for some snow to a lot of the UK.
