  5. Apparantly spring is just around the corner. I know this because the sun has returned to our wee corner of Skye after an absence of 10 weeks. OK, we may get a wee touch o' winter before that, but it's nice to see the sun again, even if it was just for 2 minutes!
  6. Morning all! Snow well down the mountainside but not quite far enough down to my level! But boy, is it Baltic out there!
  7. Rain off, blue sky appearing and helluva cauld! So, tell me, snow for Skye early in the week....or not? XC and Metcheck say yes, BBC and Meto say no. I is confused I is!

  9. Afternoon Peeps! Well, thankfully it wasn't as bad as anticipated last night. Strongest gust recorded by my weather station was 61.9 mph, believe me, we've had worse! Other areas definately did not fare so well with some damage being reported in Lewis. Our power went off for all of, oh 5 seconds, big light just flickered but stayed on and that was that. Still gusty today, but it has calmed down considerably. Phew!
  10. We've already had a 55mph gust, and have tied as much down outside as we can. I'm settling in for the night, the OH currently cooking tea. Please take out there tonight, it's gonna get wild! Baro reading 969.
  11. Thanks Cheggers, I've already topped up my oil lamps and charged as many batteries as I can! All torches have new batteries in them, good supply of candles, plenty coal, wood and kindling. Can't really do much more except go to bed early and listen to the wind screaming around the house! Will be having an early tea and bath, then maybe sit with a dram, purely to keep me warm off course!
  12. Oh B*GGER! We had a 60 mph gust a wee while back, which blew the trailer right into the side of my car. We now have a rather large hole in the rear door! Noo, where's that insurance policy?
  13. Wowsers! just had a HUMUNGOUS clap of thunder and the power went off for about 30 seconds! Didn't expect that!
  14. Evening all! Just back from a long weekend in Stirling where there was a lovely dump on Thursday night and all day Friday. Froze overnight Friday, very slippy on Saturday morning. rain arrived PM, this morning....snow gone! A light shower or two of sleet through Glencoe and Glenshiel today, but mainly rain. Now clearing and wind picking up. Windy week I think!
  15. Evening all! Currently -2.2 and still falling. Not for long though, wet and windy for the weekend, so back to normal!
  16. Afternoon Peeps from a very sunny Skye! Crystal clear blue skies and the temperature to match.......should've put my thermals on!
