Well, stay safe is all I can say. We get similar weather on Skye and have had some stonking storms in years gone by. If we don't hear from you later in the day we'll know the Storm fairies have stolen your leccy.....
Ah yes, Hagar, just another normal day at the office then! Hope you've got a good supply of candles, batteries, torches and a decent supply of even more necessary necessaries....beer, whisky, wine, chocolate etc.
No snow, no rain, just a bit dreich. I have my doubts that we'll have any snow before or during the big day, but it would appear that we may be on for a white New Year. What do our resident experts think?
Well, it's goodbye to the frost and hello to the sleet and rain. But it's still telephone boxin' cauld. Not the crisp, clear, frosty cold, but the bone knawingly damp cold. I know which I prefer.
It was a nippy -4.7 at 6.30 this morning and the temp rose to the dizzying heights of 0.6 during the day. Currently -2.7. Took 15 minutes to defrost the car this morning. I'll have to get up even earlier than usual tomorrow to start scraping the windscreens.
Ooooh Er Missus! That's a corker! We had a wee touch o' snaw this morning and then everything froze...-2.5 at 5.30 this evening. temp now up to 2 degrees and I believe more white stuff heading our way overnight. Whaurs ma snowboots?
Howdy! No snow overnight, plenty frost and skating rink roads this morning. Had a near miss with a lorry this morning, but got to college in one piece. A light dusting on high road on the way home, and temp now at 1.1 Anyone's guess what we'll get over the next few days. I've checked two forecast on the web ( Metcheck and XC ) and they both tell me something different.
Morning Peeps! A bit nippy here this morning, got down to 0 degrees overnight. If we see any snow at all it'll be on the mountain ranges. I live very close to the sea and rarely see snow lasting this far down, but I do love a frosty day or three!
Something tells me that the White Stuff will miss Skye altogether, apart from the cuillin. It is, however, gettin' chilly. Currently at 1.6 degrees. For those of you who get a wee downfall.......enjoy!
Afternoon from a wet and much colder isle of Skye! Been chopping logs this morning to feed the beast that is my kitchen logburner. Was a bit breezy here during the week, my weather station recorded wind at 62.5 MPH. Just normal for up here really.
Drove home from Inversnecky this afternoon in torrential rain. We had a few lightening flashes and some rumbles of thunder too. Just had some hailstones......
It's rare for us to get snow, sometimes just a wee dusting for a few days and then we get back to normal...horizontal rain.
