  1. Obviously there is no evidence to suggest the solar flare that hit in the early hours caused the models to react today, although they can affect equipment. But I do find it quite coincidental. It's almost worth keeping an eye on such things in the future to see if any such solar flares react with the models temporarily. Obviously millions of data pass through these models maybe solar activity is one of them. Who knows.
  2. Quick question I kinda jokingly posted in the moans thread. The solar flare we had hit in the early hours of this morning but just a glancing blow and slightly weaker than expected. Could this by any chance have caused the models today to react to that event?
  3. It was that pesky solar flare wasn't it Was only small though and just a glancing blow. Not as big as expected.
  4. Let's admit it, we all come here every year hoping to see the day after tomorrow type scenario unfold and get let down every year! We may have to start lowering our expectations maybe the handbags at dawn could become a thing of the past then! Think these films have got alot to answer for myself Maybe they will remake the film for the global warming climate change generation in a few years. Anyway time for a 5 day break from model viewing and see how much has changed in that time.
  5. Here we go again it's the same every single 0z run. Whether its lack of data for that particular run or whether its programmed in to perform a mini reset to default is anyone's guess but I NEVER take morning runs seriously and they very rarely come off. Just stick to the 12z it's the most reliable run. The theme has not changed and background signals do not just disappear based on morning runs. So many contradictory posts appear and it gets very tiresome! People saying its going to rain for the next 10 days and then thow out what a day 10 chart looked like only a few hours earlier is the most pathetic thing I'll ever read. Either tonight or tomorrow it will all look completly different again anyway. Madness. The 18z is known as the pub the run, the morning runs are pretty much the hangover run, and the 12z usually the sober run. They are clearly programmed to perform that way, for what reason who knows, but there is quite clearly an algorithm to cause it to happen.
  6. Can clearly see peoples personality come through when they post. Some people clearly live life with a negative outlook half glass empty always looking at the negative while others look for the positive half glass full. Clear to see when they post.
  7. Very true! Just a matter of filtering the posts from the not so knowledgable ones. Clearly quite a mixed bunch of ages and experience all part of the learning curve I guess!
  8. Must admit the weather model forum does make me laugh with the amount of comedy posts! A daily read now n then is quite entertaining. Amazing how many get so excited over fantasy charts. Admittedly were in a good position this year but some of the knee jerk reactions does make me smile from one run to another Same every year!
  9. I can say I think that was a Tornado that ripped through Poole was on the fly over and Trees down in Upton country park. Clouds were traveling in total opposite directions never seen the likes of it!
  10. france_1.mp4 Quite interesting how much France is expanding! Maybe hope for the South later. Keeping fingers crossed!
  11. The areas over Northern France seems to be expanding very quickly. Could get very interesting later for the South! Fingers crossed
  12. Another pic of the storm in London seen all the way from Sandbanks Dorset. Mad
  13. View from Sandbanks end. Camera not picking it up but there are split layers to it. Never seen that happen before.
  14. Is any body sat near Bournemouth beach? I'm Sandbanks end at the moment and there is sudden development here to the east of Bournemouth i cant see it on radar yet but a really high storm brewing came within minutes. Cant work out how far east that is
  15. Explosive development going on east of Bournemouth on the sea front. Just visually seen cloud shooting high very fast came from nowhere in minutes. Looks very high
  16. Quite surprised at the lack of activity for today given how much the humidity shot up in the South. Nothing of any real note going on as yet.
  17. Whats been breeding here in Poole is tracking at a slight North East direction. Could be why Oxford has a warning for later its tracking that way i believe.
  18. Here is the latest as it goes over head here in Poole. Seems to be forming for those further inland.
  19. The Swanage radar blip is now overhead of me in Poole and its clearly growing in size ready for those further north maybe! Enjoy lol
  20. I think this is what the radar is showing on netweather the Swanage side one right of Weymouth. I have a good view from my balcony here.
