    One post says cold and snow. Another says cold and rain! How will we ever learn on here with such contrasting views! At least it's all heading in right direction.

    Defo. I reckon mid to late January is when things may get interesting with the odd chance from now till then.

    Surprise surprise! The model thread has gone into meltdown. Beast from the east has been blown to pieces by this constant train of Atlantic depressions. When will they ever learn that this very rarely happens. ! More of the same now for us for the extended period now and snow looks a long long long way away. But really it's only the weather.

    Looks interesting all right Pom ref ties and weds. Could get a few problems with it. Ref model thread they are once again chasing the holy grail easterly! Time will tell but going by meto update they are having none of it. If it comes of then for us as generally the case it could be really good for the east of the province and not so further west.

    No snow in carryduff MS. Just drove through it and p****ng heavy rain! Another place that normally gets snow due to elevation but heavy rain there too. They had a tiny skiff earlier but turned straight back to rain.

    Quite a bit of snow lying in the hills around Belfast. Bizzare because I'm at 150 metres which is higher than parts where snow is lying around Belfast and Just heavy rain here. Just shows you the fine margins in getting snow!!

    Been hardly any rain here at all either but blowing a bit all right! Looking at models I think wind could be stronger tomorrow afternoon and evening after brief lull in the morning! And I'm predicting a white Xmas !

    Just off the golf course! Interesting conditions to say the least. Due to play 9 hole comp in the morn then in the pub rest of day I feel by the fire! I think things are going to get quite interesting from late this avo to sun morn. Although we all love this sort of weather lets hope their are no serious problems to buildings or life in general! If not njoy the ride folks!

    Well that was the ARTIC blast!! Wow! So if we are pinning our hopes on pm air in the next few weeks we will need a bit of luck I feel for us to be happy. The chase continues but at least it's better than mild muck! Could be a few good storms too

    Yeah the NW has done brilliant again this year. This has been another dismal winter ref snow on the east side of ireland. cannot wait to see the back of winter this year and maybe get lucky next year. Roll on Summer. Thank god im hitting the ski slopes next year to see proper snow!

    See my post above on the 20th. I literally pay very little attention to their warnings now ref snow. They have been very poor this year and change drastically day in and day out. Im not surprised one bit they have been downgraded quite so much today because there track record has been so this winter. Roll on spring. Another stinker of a winter ref snow on the east again.

    One last chance with snow coming up I would say. But I'm not expecting much if any to be honest. Monday looks best bet but I'm not convinced. Met office warnings for snow out now but going on track record from last chance I'm not pinning my hopes on them.

    I knew there was a reason i wanted to live in Boston ! not only for the sports teams but to get even 1% of the snow they get each year would do me in this blinking country!! Unreal amounts adding up there! pretty dull boring cloudy winter weather here at mo. What a waste of a few weeks this is going to be unless you like dull dry weather of course!

    No such joy weegaz. It's actually further west and doesn't look as heavy in northwest now either. Only way to know later is look out the window. Time to look for the next cold spell and hope this high changes position to help. God you would think this winter we could get some break for proper cold weather. Not this marginal crap!

    Ooooo, there a bold statement MS ref no more snow to next winter bar mon-tues! I can see were u are coming from but think we will have a few mer chances. At least if we do get a wee bit of snow on the ground mon-tues it might hang around a bit due to high pressure. However I'm not convinced at all ref mon-tues. And I continue to question these warnings by met office. Very strange in my eyes.
