  1. A pleasant day here with sunny spells and some cloud. Still quite windy but it reached 18°C, so got lots done in the garden
  2. Cheshire Freeze So many of those in the last 10 months
  3. In Absence of True Seasons haha, absolutely! Though it’s not been much better here in Czechia, a very wet run of months. At least the last week hasn’t been too bad. Back to grey, windy crap today though
  4. Some useful rain here overnight, but already brightening up with a forecast high of 16°C. Not too shabby and the vile wind has calmed down thankfully
  5. Some good sunny spells here today allowed temperatures to reach a respectable 16°C. Unfortunately, due to a howling SE’ly near-gale with 40mph gusts, it didn’t feel that warm. Would be nice to get a sunny day with light winds, I’ve really had my fill of windy weather
  6. Don My God, you’re brave After all the drama in here, but there was a full moon so I’m not surprised. Pretty chilly here again, not much sun, hopefully that’ll change soon.
  7. Had some hail showers here today which was interesting and sunshine in between, but I felt cold in the blustery westerly wind, despite working hard in the garden. Forecast showing low 20’s next weekend Much more pleasant
  8. The day started out beautifully here with warm sunshine but rapidly deteriorated with the passage of a cold front around lunchtime. Not much rain but the wind was very gusty and it felt quite unpleasant by the afternoon in that cold wind and under grey skies. The temperature dropped over 10°C
  9. In Absence of True Seasons Yes, I know I’ve said it before but the biggest issue with our climate (by far) is the lack of sunshine. Year round. For example, sunshine in winter tends to be of the cold, crisp variety, which is very pleasant. As for summer, I’d be more than happy with 22-27°C every day, lots of sunshine and the some useful rain from time to time (with some big thunderstorms too, of course).
  10. In Absence of True Seasons back in Czechia until the 31st
  11. Another beautiful early spring day here, with plenty of sunshine. Still feeling chilly out of the sun, but spring has sprung, yay
  12. Had a beautiful sunny day here yesterday and looking pretty decent this morning, too. Makes such a difference to one’s mood
  13. A very pleasant sunny day here, despite a cold breeze. Some low overnight temperatures with frost as a reminder that it’s still early spring
  14. B87 Much of the SE had epic thunderstorms with rare daytime darkness on August 6th that year, which I remember. That was the highlight of the month
  15. Freeze Yes, a mate lives in Hove and I’ve really noticed the difference (cold onshore wind). Just a fleeting milder snap here, back to cloud and occasional rain
  16. A pleasant early spring day here, with some sunshine and temperatures reaching 17°C
  17. CryoraptorA303 ooh, good news that the warmer months are getting sunnier Still hundreds of hours away from where I’d like the figures to be, but any improvement on our generally woeful sunshine hours is welcome. I’ve been interested in the weather for about 42 years now and London winters have always been predominantly wet and gloomy, but at least they used to have a variety of weather types and temperatures, including an occasional snowfall. It’s certainly changed into something much more dreary and depressing, unfortunately. Perma-autumn is quite apt
  18. CryoraptorA303 Europe is a very cloudy continent, unfortunately, away from southern parts (like Mallorca). The UK is one of the cloudiest parts of a cloudy continent. Seems to be getting worse, too. Plus the UK appears to be going down the toilet at the moment. All very depressing, but I’m lucky that I only work there and live in a much saner country. As a keen gardener and home-grower, it’d be nice for some sunshine interspersed with a bit of useful rain, not this awful long run of poor weather
  19. raz.org.rain Yes, that wouldn’t be very pleasant. Don’t mind brief periods of humidity if they lead to thunderstorms, but otherwise, drier air is preferable. Greyhound81 I love cold, sunny weather in winter. Much preferable to this mild, wet onslaught.
  20. Summer8906 Horrible, if so. Am really hopeful of some above average sunshine months this year. In all seasons
  21. Kiwi Am not surprised by that. Crap weather, nothing works properly but mega expensive. Wonderful. Can’t help but feel that a long, hot summer awaits with all this rain
  22. Tipping it down yet again in west London. Think they’ll have to rename Heathrow, Swamprow
  23. The day went from bad to worse here, absolutely chucked it down frequently throughout the afternoon. Huge puddles and surface water everywhere. Poor worms can’t cope
  24. The grey, drizzly grot is back with a vengeance. Yawn
  25. I like snow but like thunderstorms and sunshine even more. Shame there’s no ‘pointless grey muck’ option, considering that’s what the UK does ad nauseum.
