  1. No doubt many will welcome a drier spell with over 200 flood warnings currently in place. Hopefully something seasonal though, a cold and sunny high with overnight frost and fog would be enjoyable (for me), as can go out and enjoy walks, exercise, etc. Not keen on a mild, gloomy high
  2. I wanted to say I was at the bus stop getting blown, but that sounds a bit wrong
  3. Dunno about window Definitely windy! Clearly could do with a nice period of dry weather now (or a big freeze ) as the Environment Agency map shows over 200 flood warnings Fingers crossed indeed
  4. The sun is finally out in west London today after all that rain. It’s blowing a hoolie, though, feeling much colder than the temperature suggests
  5. Arrived in London for 3 days of work and the weather is horrible, yet more rain
  6. Yes, the melodrama on here about a few dry and warm days is laughable. Happens every year, despite the near-continual lashing rain all autumn and winter. This year is no different. Flood warnings everywhere yet again, but no new infrastructure. Good old Blighty. A little more snow here today but very treacherous out, ice is absolutely everywhere. Not so keen on snow after a few days, especially when it gets this icy. Looks like it will all be gone soon as much milder air moves in from the weekend
  7. Proper ice day here with some lovely winter sunshine. Will enjoy the snow while it lasts, won’t be long by the look of it as by this time next week it’ll be very mild, maybe into double figures. Hello Atlantic, I’ve missed you like third-degree haemorrhoids lol
  8. Rather nippy here in Czechia this morning, but the sunshine is lovely and the snow is sparkling like a million diamonds
  9. The first 2 The last one can eff right off, thanks. Don’t want another spring like this year
  10. It can be frustrating in these situations, getting proper, widespread cold and snow to the UK always seems so difficult. I agree the hobby is less fulfilling than in the 80’s and 90’s. Only day 3 of winter though, so all to play for.
  11. Left a chilly and damp London this morning to a very cold and snowy Czech Republic. And it’s snowing again. Feeling very festive here but disappointed more in the UK haven’t seen snow
  12. Amazing scenes. Much of Czechia also snowed under, some regions have declared a state of emergency. Some pics of my town (only 10cm or so here) from social media. I’m in London, typically. But am off home tomorrow. Good start to winter
  13. Anything but extended periods of grey, wet and windy, which the UK gets in abundance. Cold and snow is fun, I quite like mild and sunny at times. Cold and sunny is nice, too. The more winter sunshine, the better
  14. Lots of snow causing issues in the Czech Republic, some places have seen 75cm More to come, too
  15. Autumn has flown by, a very mixed season. I enjoyed September, it then became super wet and dull though and there was a distinct lack of the foggy, frosty conditions that I enjoy. Some cold and wet snow during the last week upped the excitement a bit. I’ll give the season a 6/10.
  16. Beauty of a day in London, sunny but cold.
  17. At least we have the whole winter ahead of us to enjoy. It’s been a wintry week in the Czech Republic with a lot of snow falling, but like in Slovakia, temperatures have been a bit marginal and the ground is still too warm with hard frosts lacking, so far. Shame as could have been notable. Next week looks cold with nighttime temperatures falling to -10°C or lower and some ice days forecast too Am back in the UK for work and it’s a chilly but beautiful day today with plenty of sunshine
  18. A lot of snow has fallen overnight and today here in Czechia, unfortunately temperatures have hovered mainly just above freezing so despite accumulation, there’s also been a lot of melting. Now it’s falling below freezing so snow should start sticking more, but it’s very wet everywhere. Bit of a shame as could’ve been pretty memorable this early in the season
  19. Grey day here, a couple of degrees above freezing so any laying snow has disappeared but warnings are out for possibly more than 7cm overnight locally. Some very dense patches of fog around now which I love. I certainly don’t love it dark just after 4pm
  20. A very interesting end to autumn / start to winter indeed. We’ve already had several instances of snow falling and accumulating here in Czechia over the weekend, but temperatures have crept above freezing by day so it doesn’t last that long. Plus there haven’t been any hard frosts to cool the ground down. But warnings are out for tonight and tomorrow for >7cms of snow locally
  21. Quite a snowy late autumn day here, about a cm fell with the maximum temperature reaching 1°C. Sunny now and 0°C so still a fair bit of snow around.
  22. -1°C here this morning, feels properly seasonal with a light dusting of snow from overnight showers. Forecast is for sunshine and snow showers today, that’d be nice. Just no more grey skies please
  23. Blowing a hoolie here this evening, very noisy. Tomorrow looks like the last day of average temperatures before a big change to much colder weather. Some snow is forecast, so that’s quite exciting, would love to see some clear skies and crisp early winter sunshine too. Been very cloudy lately and it’s beginning to set off my SAD
  24. Slight dusting of snow here on cars and roofs this morning, currently 0°C
