  1. Amazing. You can see the long cold front joining up to the next frontal systems/depression to the W-SW of the UK. Am still on the warm side of the front here in Czechia. Was a beautiful sunny day yesterday, reached 24°C. Cloudier today but still mild, but then looking much colder next week. End of next week has highs of just 7°C with overnight frosts. Autumn certainly can often be quite dramatic and interesting
  2. Yes, next week looking very chilly, after decent amounts of lovely warm autumn sunshine. Some useful rain, too. Hopefully there’ll be some foggy and frosty nights, any excuse to put the log burner on
  3. 24°C forecast here today, then 3 more warm days before a massive cool-down. Next week looking positively chilly with the first frosts Should be sunny and crisp, too
  4. True, more continental climates are far better for autumn colours. We have been lucky occasionally, quite spectacular when it happens.
  5. Very autumnal day here with spells of quite heavy rain and felt chilly at 15°C. Put the log burner on this evening, heavenly!
  6. Felt very autumnal here today with chilly temperatures, lots of cloud and a short spell of rain.
  7. Started off very pleasant here in Czechia with sunny skies but rapidly clouding over now with a very blustery breeze. 20°C currently. Looks very nice back in west London, 22°C and sunny
  8. Like a bit of snow myself, but chilly wind and rain ain’t much fun. I’d be fine with cold sunny days and foggy, frosty nights in November, though
  9. Yeah, I wish it was 13°C, chucking it down, blowing a hoolie and sunless Er, no thanks, it’s been lovely and I’ve got so much work done outside. Everyone I know is loving it
  10. Beautiful, sunny autumn day here, after a chilly (9°C) start, it should reach 19°C today. Next 7-10 days look very pleasant, maximum temperatures between 15-22°C and overnight lows of 5-12°C.
  11. Quite. I’d be very happy with crisp sunny days and foggy, frosty nights showing up soon. Not a massive fan of chilly, wet and windy weather, which we seem to get loads of in the UK. But if we get a bit more sun and warmth, no complaints at all from me
  12. I completely understand people wanting cooler, more seasonal temperatures, but less sunshine? Please. After a stunning early October day here where it reached 27°C, just had a brief but rather dramatic thunderstorm that exploded ahead of a rapidly advancing cold front. Nice drop of rain
  13. Yes, the cost of living is going up and so many people are struggling financially. No heating costs yet are a godsend for them
  14. But we get months of cloudy, damp weather - often 9 months a year. The UK isn’t a sunny country by a long shot
  15. Maybe many people actually don’t want cloud and rain for an entire summer month? Like you say, the UK/NW Europe has a maritime climate with extremes usually less likely, but it’s also a very dull, dreary climate with insufficient sunshine amounts at any time of year. Of course, we’re all used to this during the cooler half of the year with many struggling with SAD and other health issues, but to get a nice sunny summer is such a boon. Despite the climate change implications, I’m very much enjoying the weather of late, beautiful sunshine galore and no SAD. I’m sure many others feel the same.
  16. Plenty of trees and shrubs turning colour here in Czechia, despite the very warm September weather. Might hit 27°C tomorrow, rather weird for October but I’ve got lots of jobs to do in the garden so I’ll make the most of it Yes, I think it’ll switch to cold quite suddenly and it’ll be a shock to the system (welcomed by some).
  17. Might also have something to do with the horrible spring slowing everything down
  18. Maybe a little. While there is plenty to be concerned about imho and the way we (as a species) treat our planet in general is pretty disgusting, our ‘wishes’ have no bearing on the actual weather. If people are enjoying warm and sunny weather this late in the season ( I know I am), it’s ok. It’ll change at some point soon
  19. On the one hand, I’m very much enjoying the warm, sunny weather. Temperatures are perfect during the day. And nights are cool for sleeping. On the other hand, it’s a bit strange/concerning. Will enjoy it while it lasts, though.
  20. Back in Czechia and it’s very pleasant, 25°C with long sunny spells. Looks like a front is on its way though
  21. It’s unlikely to happen and it won’t be hot. Plenty of autumnal weather to enjoy in the next week, if you like cloud, wind and rain. Should also be some nicer spells
  22. Me too, something is certainly afoot with the climate and parasites and money grabbers abound, unfortunately. Good old human nature, greed is everywhere
  23. Yes, satellite image is great, the reality on the ground is a dreary grey sky and a strong breeze Maybe a squall line will develop?
  24. Good if you have a log burner! Is ash die-back bad in your part of the UK? I’ve hardly seen any in west London or Czechia
  25. Have the same feeling. While a good storm can be exciting, I hope it doesn’t happen until the trees have lost at least most of their leaves. The UK can ill-afford to lose trees. And flooding isn’t welcome, either.
