  1. Just in and car reading -6 so certainly still pretty chilly. A few photos from a lunchtime walk round the village.
  2. Not so sure, I predict rain whilst @Ross Bwill have snow being a touch further inland and a bit more elevation.
  3. As with yesterday morning, it was -8 again on the car again this morning. Clear sunny skies. Not expecting snow here but you never know. So much frost it’s almost starting to look like snow!
  4. Boiler sorted. Frozen condensate outlet and that has never happened before in the 13 years we’ve been here. Saw no higher than -1 on the car today. Whilst the lack of snow in these parts is disappointing, it really has been an especially cold spell of weather and the view from the back window just felt like we were deep in a cold winter.
  5. Car reading -8 when I moved it earlier. Cloudy this morning. The milk on the doorstep was frozen solid despite being tucked in against the house. Boiler been making some very strange noises so got someone coming to look at it before it packs in completely.
  6. Just the tiniest of sprinklings here on top of the sheet ice from last night. Even the main roads are covered ice here this morning. Took an age to get the ice off the car.
  7. A couple of rain showers earlier which have frozen solid each time. Sheet ice outside now covering all surfaces.
  8. Light snow falling giving a little dusting on all untreated surfaces.
  9. Heading to the work night out and absolutely frozen waiting for the train. Frost didn’t lift and whilst the sun briefly melted the ice on the car, it almost immediately refroze. Been running the heating a bit lower this year and for less hours, but gave in this afternoon and cranked it up! Looks like I am too far west to get in on any snow action but regardless, it’s a fantastically cold spell here.
  10. Cold day where the frost didn’t lift. Car thermometer was still reading 0c in the middle of the day. Great to see pics from those who have snow. Not so much as a cloud here today never mind a snowflake. Just returned after being out for the evening and car reading -5 arriving home.
  11. Pretty hard frost this morning. Cold, crisp and sunny. Having been waiting an age for some dry weather we’ve currently got a roofer on our frost covered roof! What could possibly go wrong!? Not expecting snow here in the current set up, but nice to have a bit cold.
  12. Another ridiculously warm day for November. Front hedge thinks it’s spring and has new green growth which has appeared over the last 2 weeks. Retrieved the garden furniture which went on a journey across the garden in Friday’s wind and then cut the grass which is the latest I can remember having to cut it for a long time. Even had to dig my shorts back out the wardrobe.
  13. A welcome break from the rain today, although still not totally dry. Got a bit of tidying up in the garden done this afternoon. Felt warm when the sun was out and and just had a T-shirt which seems nuts for early November. Looking even milder still as this week progresses. Some plants in the garden are still happily flowering as if it was still summer! Still even using lettuce from the garden.
  14. Sorry to hear about Puffy. A real character on the forum. A lively bit of weather currently rattling through this end of Ayrshire. Torrential rain with some thunder mixed in. Wasn’t expecting that this evening.
  15. Normally a winter visitor to the forums but what a few days and some incredible temperatures both north and south of the border. Heading home from work last night the car was switching between 29c and 30c. Working from home today and felt even hotter earlier on, but a change rolling in and as others have said, the sun has gone, some showers and even some distant thunder earlier. Big spots of rain evaporating almost the moment they hit the ground.
  16. Hard to think that it was T-shirt weather at the weekend. A few flakes blowing about in the wind this morning and then some short but heavy showers from early evening. Grass is white now.
  17. Showers now sleet and hail. Measured about 6cms after the snow this morning, and before the dripping started. So not a bad covering. Thawing rapidly now.
  18. A notable transition to sleet / very wet snow now. No longer lying where earlier snow had melted.
  19. Only caught the edge of the shower so just a touch of whiteness on the grass. Sounds like you would need to keep going a bit to @Ross B’s
  20. Lively evening. Rain, hail, sleet and snow, although nothing lying. Gusty wind and I am pretty sure there was some distant lightning earlier. Also had a power cut for good measure.
