A relatively cool 26.3 high here, but still felt far to warm. Mostly due to the high humidity. Now down to 17.8

Found this vid of the main part of storm approaching Dover, as you can see the closer it gets the more flashes are visable. It got even flashier than this once the gust front came through. Not my vid.

Hi everyone, back on line now
Have had three storms in the last couple of weeks, the second of which was a real cracker, strobe lightning for at least an hour couldn't believe it.
Today started nice and sunny, getting some cloud now though.

Didn't get any yesterday, ut was woken by a storm at silly o'clock sometime earlier in the week, may be Wednesday.

Can see the occasional flash from the cell out in the channel, I don't think it's quite worth heading down to the coast to watch. A nice start to the year though!
Yep saw that, hotel is on the leas, sea view room. Not much, but nice to see at this time of year.

Much further West then forecast, TV had those showers hitting Kent from this evening and through tomorrow. Will they move over to here still?

Cloudy and dry day here. Some brightness from time to time where the high cloud thinned out a bit but not much else. Huge questions about next week but it is fun to see a couple of opperationals toying with a seriously brutal cold pool and hitting us full in the face.
Now to make that verify.....
Rained here from about 2:00 until about 8:00 seems to be dry now though.

That's rare though (+3 uppers), even if the surface is bitter, if the uppers are +ve you can get freezing rain.
Tell me about it, had freezing rain here in dover just last week, very slippery school run. Kids seemed to enjoy it though.

First season so it's all trial and error! But have gone for King Edwards maincrop and Abbot and Charlotte earlies. Haven't chitted the Edwards yet, they're still in the box. If there's one thing I've discovered about this gardening malarkey, it's that for every question, there appears to be a million different answers!! We're not allowed any structures other than a lockable box on the allotment, so I'm having to chit them in a 21.c office...don't know if that's ok, either as it's meant to be in a 'cool' place.
Apart from the usual stuff, we're going to try and grow loofahs for a laugh, and those meter long courgettes Chiltern Seeds is quite good for weird stuff.
Having an allotment does give you mixed feeling about late winter cold, that's for sure. Not sure if I'm looking forward to a possible Beasterly...or whether I just want a reasonable day to get digging!!
Potatoes are easy, my kids have grown them by just planting a normal shop bought potatoes that decided to start growing roots before.

And it's raining.

Fridays storm looks like a little over hyped to me now...
Only the usual news papers have hyped this one, the met hasn't named it. Not seen anything of concern anywhere apart from articles that gave the impression a named storm was coming. Perhaps people will finally notice certain papers are full of rubbish.

Been foggy looking all day, but it's that wet mist, with a few heavier bit's mixed in now and then.
-
Still looks foggy, although I think it's low cloud, and still dry here. Temp 5.7
-
Wind still from the SE, temp only up to 4.8 so far. Rain hasn't come apart from about an hours worth of drizzly mist earlier. Cloud is low though, looks slightly foggy out.
-
Temp slowly rising now, light fog turned into drizzly type mist.

Morning All. Not sure why some are saying it is mild. I still feel a chill in the air as the wind has increased over the last few days. Last nights dog walks still needed gloves and hat. Or am I just gettng too old?
This morning was grey and slight breeze with a few spots of rain in the air by the time i got into work (0730)

Not so lucky, still hot and sunny here, with more humidity. Nice little breeze though. high yesterday 27, already 25 today. May even be hotter today as it's only midday.
