I like the ECM version, looks prime for going under the scandy block, may be a bit high for us down south though, however it would help the block to position much more favourably afterwards.

Looks like fortunes have reversed, the north is cold and frosty and we are warm and wet. Let's hope the next stage is snow somehow. Here a wet mist temp 5.6

Thunder cloud out at sea, with lightning. Near Seaford East Sussex, would not expect to see clouds like that until at least March. There must be a lot of strength in that Sun. Showers will fade quickly after dark. All good stuff tho. Good Health to you all.
Just had a shower go through here, so they are still around it seems.
-
Have had a few showers here today, one just went through now. All quite heavy but no thunder and lightning.
-
The warm up will be good for a bit, however I do hope we can squeeze a another snowy spell out of this winter, one that doesn't turn to sleet just before it clears, so the kids can have a play and build snow men etc.

Definitely had freezing rain here, ice everywhere, the most dangerous school run ever.
-
wow what a cold day, saw a snow grain on the school run this morning, temp maxed at 0.1 18:00 so not quite an ice day, although I don't think that would melt anything.
-
-
Might still get that ice soon, temp dropping here now 0.6
-
Got lucky here, didn't get cold enough to turn the damp ground icy.over night low of 0.8 which was at 8:15 still that temp now.

Lots of excitement on here tonight and with good reason. Some saying that the end result might be a half way house between what the ECM and GFS show - But the ECM is still continuing to trend further towards an exciting outlook and the GFS now starting to following it lead.
If as has been said, things are looking like a repeat of March 2013, then that pattern being repeated so much earlier could mean things get serious. We are currently less than a week after the date when the winter of 1947 first took hold.
As far as I'm concerned and many more down here, winter hasn't warmed up since that snow Thursday a few weeks back, in fact there's still some snow on the hills north west of Dover. Someone posted a pic of it yesterday. Lot's of lakes completely frozen over all over the south east as well.

Well after last nights cloud, cold and fog are back.

Warm night here cause of cloud, however still quite chilly, 3.2 was the low, it's now up to 4.4, but not really rising all that fast, again because of cloud. Still have some frost about in places that haven't melted for days.
-
Fog has more or less cleared again now, wonder if it comes back again before night fall.

Hopefully the 'stormier start to Feb' hinted at by the GFS will come off. My local reservoir is nearer to mid-summer water levels than Winter. We need the Winter rains to keep us going for the Summer.
Never seen the river dour so low, it looks like a wide stream rather than a river.

Scratch my last comment another bank of fog has come over since, looks like it will be one of those on off days for fog.
-
Fog already almost gone here, nice frost everywhere.

wow it was a cold day today, frost started building on cars even before it was fully dark. High of 2.4
-
Still warmer than it has been here temp at 1.4 still.
-
Wind seems to have calmed a bit now, still frost in the shade even though no new frost last night. down to 2.2 now.
-
High so far today 4.7, wind gusting around 30 mph, and feels raw. Will probably keep the frost away again tonight from here, as still air is best for that.

Tell me about it lol, can't remember my guess now, it was near the average. I'm not changing it though.
