We had a couple of spots of rain, probably not enough to wet the back of a postage stamp ( when you had to lick them), which shows how local these storms can be. Very dark now though and lots of thunder rumbling overhead, but no breeze or precipitation yet.

Mostly inter cloud lightening that is hardly visible except for one fork lightening over to my west possible near Chipstead. Still no rain yet but very humid and lots of thunder.

I’m in coulsdon and haven’t got the rain yet but it can’t be far away then.

Cloud has rapidly bubbled up and now thundering about every 10 seconds for the last few mins. No rain yet.

A very grey, murky and humid morning. Very little mizzle in the air. Currently 20.1c

I can see all the action to my west and north but here in coulsdon it’s just very warm and humid. It looks like the storms are trundling up the a217 .

Definitely feels stormy, the humidity has shot up and the breeze has risen. It is great watching the clouds develop so quickly

Several rumbles now . Thunderheads developing very quickly. It looks like Sutton is in the firing line.

Up to 32.3c now but a few more high level clouds around now, but not of the rain bearing type.

Well we have reached 30c at 11.05 today. Not a cloud in the sky either, so just another hot summers day.

Well looks like we might be on to beat yesterday’s high. Currently at 32.3c and not a cloud in the sky .

Currently a sweltering 34.3c in Coulsdon and not a cloud in sight.

Still rising. 31.4c at 1pm

Temp has been steadily climbing all morning and now at 29.4c. There is a lot less cloud and breeze compared to yesterday, so we might edge towards 33 or 34 today.

well we slowly crept up to 31.8c today, down to 29.9c now as a bit of cloud has bubbled up, but still feeling humid. There is a nice breeZe up on top of farthing downs here in coulsdon but down in the valley its fairly calm and clamy. looks like we have a few days more of hot weather to come, but then It is summer after all and we all love our weather extremes in ths country so roll on more hot and sunny days. Then perhaps we will have the usual big bang of thunderstorms drifting up over the channel and giving us some great lightening shows, and of course very active storm threads. Time for a cooling drink i think

The 37c is for tomorrow not today!

A very uncomfortable night, but a bit of a breeze this morning is helping. Currently 23.6c . I see the met office forecast issued at 4am this morning has London and surrounding areas up to 37c . This is where you miss an air conditioned office .

Temp just keeps going up. Now at 31.9c

Just crept above 30 now and up to 30.6c and rising.

What difference a little bit more sunshine has. Up 1 degree already to 29.4c. Does look like the se corner of East Sussex and Kent coast doing well. Hurstmonceux is current to temp at 33c

Currently 28.4c in Coulsdon but the cloud is breaking up. It is humid though.

Like most, it’s a cloudy but humid start after .2mm rain early this morning. Temp at 24c .
