  1. Had a decent amount around 2am but it appears to be sleet now and the amount rapidly diminishing.
  2. Snowing heavily in coulsdon. Paths and even the salted roads have been covered in the dace a 10 mins.
  3. Just got in and temp outside now at 0c and dp is -2c , so favourable conditions I think.
  4. Well the old adage is "get the cold in and the snow will follow" . Well that's definitely the case in coulsdon this morning. Temp -8.1c dp -9c . So the coldest night of winter to date.
  5. Well quite surprised to see how much snow is still lying here in Coulsdon. Even in the high street the grass and some walls still have a fairly complete covering. Definitely going you be a chilly night. Currently -2.2c dp -3c
  6. Currently -2.3c and dp of -3.3c . About 2cm on grass and light covering on the pavements but very icy, so MO warning was spot on there. A very crunchy sound when walking to the station.
  7. Steady snow now settling on roads a pavements. Nice covering building up.
  8. Snowing steadily now in coulsdon. Temp down to 0.9c dew point at 0c. settling on grass, trees etc. Paths and road still wet with large puddles.
  9. It was -3.7c when I left the house and a hard frost on the ground, which is like concrete. Judging by the last few days I suspect this will last most of the day in the shadier parts of the garden, so hopefully as cold Base for any snow to settle on. Fingers crossed
  10. A beautiful salmon red/orange sunrise over London this morning. I'll post some pics when I can.
  11. It was -3.9c when I left home this morning . One of those lovely crisp frosty mornings.
  12. He has a reputation for this... I was at a RMS meeting last year that covered the global climate and changes that affect the UK. Part of the discussion included a section on how the Met office try to choose their words very carefully when releasing their forecasts. They mentioned the need to try and avoid sensationalising things and with that a slide of Daily Express front pages (at least 40 of them) appeared (written by Mr Rao of course). I don't think there was a person in the room who wasn't laughing and thats 150+ people... But i guess what you can say though is that the UK weather keeps him in a job
  13. I don't even need to look . That will be Nathan rao and his go to mate for " the coldest winter in 800years" James madden.
  14. Well I said it wasn't settling on the pavements but it's coming down so hard it is now settling.
  15. Heavy snow here now .settling on the grass but roads and pavements are too wet at the moment.
  16. In coulsdon so 2 miles south of croydon and just snizzle at present but temp has dropped from 2.1c 30mins ago to 0.9c now but dp up from 0 to 1
  17. The train slowed down so can see it snowing in purley. Doesn't appear to be settling though .
  18. Sleety rain at East croydon but apparently more heavier snow flakes at Coulsdon
  19. With the sun rising can see the back edge of the front going through. You can tell how the temp has dropped as cars that had wet windscreens we I set of for a walk with the dog are now frozen over with that lovely feather effect.
