its all (literally) gone south very quickly! Still snowing here but we've missed the heavy stuff by the looks of it. Looking at the radar I cant see it still be snowing at 3pm this afternoon like the tv forecast said Despite it snowing steadily for 2 hours now theres still only 1cm of wet snow on the ground. Just isnt cold enough i dont think, despite a very cold night last night. Im yet to see deep snow this winter!!

Yes is noticed that too, certainly looks like its sliding looking at the heavier stuff going SE! Not sure what it will do to the mild winning out but maybe snow for longer hopefully. My worry is that the heavy stuff risks sliding too far SW at the moment...

bit heavier here now, starting to settle on the patio and some surfaces. BBC weather still said certainly snow accross Yorkshire by 3pm this afternoon so hopefully get the heavy stuff over us soon and get a good covering to enjoy for a little bit

Light snow coing down now here, not settling though, but its wet after the frost melt sadly. Waiting for the main front and heavy stuff to get here...

Glad to see its cleared up and can see the moon now (its cool too when you can actually see the black bit) some frost around.

Still cloudy at the moment, that's no good at all! Needs to be clear and as cold as possible tonight with hard frost for as long as we can.

Yes sorry, did mean tomorrow. I think your probably right, need to hope its heavy enough to get down to my level thats for sure. We shall see but warm fronts arent usualy the heavy ones are they.

Updated yellow warning now from met office includes much further south so we are well in the zone. Reading the text though they havent got a clue whether it will snow or not!! A case of opening the curtains with your fingers crossed in the morning i think.....!

Yes it's odd isn't it! However, another complete bust for the forecast, was supposed to be a lovely day today according to look north. If it doesn't snow with this then I'm not sure about tomoz, uppers are colder today then with tomorrow's front?

Yes we might get a covering out of this, night time helps! Looks like little trough yeah. Sunday looked good on BBC weather just now! Shame it won't last but could be a spell of heavy snow. Will be nice to watch anyway

yes and looking at the radar the front is fast going to have passed over Yorkshire so its all over nearly lol. Its flown through. I must say the Look North forecast for tonight looks ridiculous now from tea time!!!

Fingers crossed then, the heavy stuff is approaching Yorkshire now so lets hope that tips it over the edge Still wet sleet and rain here at the moment though.

very very wet sleet here at the mo, ive cought a few drops on the window when you see the last bit of ice melt from the middle and it seems to streak when its sleet and snow

It's really difficult to decide what's going to happen, all the text forecasts, BBC graphics and radio bulletins are all different! Owain on radio Sheffield this evening is saying heavy snow so.....

Don't forget the ppn type radar isn't accurate. I learned the other week that it's model driven and not a true radar reading. I'd be surprised if it's not snowing for you now, were under the coldest air right now overnight ?
