  1. So it would appear. Woe betide anyone to disagree with them or the Mighty Mr. Murr!
  2. As Mr. Ferguson repeats, but doesn't seem to want to be heard by some, rain amounts is their main concern at present!!
  3. On behalf of those who don't understand the more technical references and comments on here, thank you for that very well written explanation. Much appreciated!
  4. Speak for yourself, when it snows then my workload triples, so whilst I fully appreciate that there are weather types for everyone, not all of us get a day off when the white stuff arrives, so the longer it stays away the better from my point of view. Dry & cold yes, but then the coldies on here are never satisfied with 'just' cold.
  5. On Weds I went to the gym for an hour, came back and checked the MAD thread..... in that time it had jumped over 6 pages. Today after two hours only 3 pages..... says it all really.
  6. Someone on the MAD thread suggested one of the models is hinting at "uninteresting" weather with lots of cloud, winds from the east, but dry. I'll snap their hand off if that's true, still drying out at the moment so dry for a month would be wonderful!!!!
  7. Appreciate you thinking of those of us underwater still. I hate being the Snow Grinch, but I'm really hoping it waits till things have dried up a bit. (Sorry Mods)
  8. Thanks John..... sorry, I didn't mean to sound like a winger I don't mind the cold, but some dry cold would be nice.
  9. With apologies for being a snow Grinch, but dare I ask if there's anything remotely dry or settled on the horizon? After all the recent disruption, the last thing some areas need is snow and ice. :-(
  10. Or not for those of us who are still under water.....thanks all the same.
  11. John, thank you so much for posting all those charts!! I've learned more in one sitting than I have for days trying to pick the bones out of the 'Snowflake Watching' thread!! Thank you!!
  12. Phil, thank you for posting a chart giving a chart as to what's in store in the short term future as opposed to worrying about the first snowflake. For those of us in flooded areas and with shaky electrical connectivity, an update is appreciated, so thxnk you.
  13. Thanks SB, yep all this water adding to it isn't a bundle of laughs is it! I'm with you, all I want is a fortnight of dry weather. Reading Frosty's daily predictions of "wintry potential" is almost as tiresome as the wind & rain!!
  14. Having spent an Xmas with water lapping all around and no 'lecky' you'll forgive me if the thought of more disruption thanks to snow is not high on my new year wish list!!
  15. Well, it's blowing up here near Horsham. Lights flickering too, which isn't the most promising sign.
  16. Apologies, but this did make me chuckle to myself, all this stormy weather to discuss, and the Mad Thread is still searching for that illusive first snowflake sometime in January!!
  17. To quote Vyvyan from the Young Ones, "Snow, Snow, bloody snow.....!!! Surely winter's more about desperately seeking the likelihood of snow day after day, or am I missing something?
  18. That's as maybe in your opinion, but it's nice to hear about what the models are saying about the weather in the immediate future, rather than being solely focused on scanning constantly on what may happen 7-10 days ahead all the time.
  19. I find the annoying part about it is that it's become a 'Snow Watch' thread. They say they're looking for cold weather, but when that came in early December, with frosts, fog etc it was written off as "boring". I'd have thought you can have/enjoy cold weather without having to see snow falling from the sky, but that doesn't seem to the case with most of them. Haha, you're joking, the merest glimpse of anything a week ahead and Frosty's like a Daily Express front page!! Pointless model watching until the new year at least if you want extreme cold weather. Why do the mild fanatics keep posting endless reams of useless charts that consume unnecessary bandwidth. There should be a restriction on number of charts people can post. Maximum 4. I wonder what the record is for number of people on ignore list? I have 3 pages worth of ignores.
  20. It means they're covering all bases....and it also means that Frosty will be hyperventilating.
  21. That depends on what you hope the weather in winter will be surely?
  22. That's very interesting! But yes, it is rather 'car crash' viewing most of the time at this time of year! 'Obi Wan' and his young Jedi seem to be ganging up together at the moment in order to knock down someone who dares to question their opinion! No idea what they're talking about, but it's taken up most of two pages!
  23. Yes, very true! I must admit the comments that bug me are those which use phrases such as "downgrade", "upgrade,", or worse, "what we need to happen is...."! Why on earth can't they simply say that one model looks "colder/milder/warmer" than another rather than compare it yo what they want to see? I will say that some of the incessant sucking up to some of the comments does make me chuckle though.
  24. It's because they only ever look for or show charts for weather which they like!!
