  1. I'm more than happy to admit that I don'[t want to let go of any warm & sunny weather, regardless of if it's in summer or autumn. As someone once said to me, "Ice is for drinks", so that rather sums up my feelings towards winter! The longer any cold & unsettled weather remains away from these shores, the better! I of course realise I'm in a minority at this time of year, but happy to be so! :-)
  2. No thanks.....the thought of the heating going on, wearing several layers of clothing and putting t-shirts & shorts away for 6 months isn't a nice one! I can allow a days rain to slide if it means bright & sunny for the weekend into next week!
  3. Nope, just enjoying some bright sunny and pleasantly warm weather thanks very much!
  4. Beautiful weekend! Blue skies, sun, enough warmth in the day to be able to wear t-shirt & shorts.....fantastic. It's more than welcome to hang around for a while yet!
  5. Unfortunately I don't think that's the case judging from what all the indications currently are.
  6. I read the Guardian, but don't lean.....just read the sports section and avoid politics like I avoid snow!!
  7. What...you mean the Mail tells porkie pies?????
  8. No, I believe Purga and his Epicly cold uppers are very much a unique species...
  9. Come on Frosty, keep posting these nice red coloured charts please. Off on hollibobs once the schools break next week, and don't like the comments of these Atlantic systems returning to coincide with it!! I'm relying on you!!
  10. Haha, of course, how dare we have any sunshine. I've only just got used to not reading Purga talking about his epic cold uppers, so three weeks of sun and a bit of warmth isn't too much to begrudge us summer folks is it!
  11. This from Martin Gibbs....a less hysterical approach than some I've read elsewhere, as always! In Summary though a basic slow trend towards something more thundery next week is emerging where it leaves the UK by the end of the week and next weekend is unclear. GFS has ditched it's deeply unsettled phase next weekend with a much more gentle approach this morning while the other output all show a zone of thundery weather moving slowly North later in the week. I am less then convinced that a major thundery outbreak is likely from these type of synoptics as the features moving up from the SW are shallow and ill defined. Yes, I'm sure there will be some nasty storms scattered about next week but 'scattered' is likely to be the key word as I think some places may miss them and stay largely dry and still very warm at least until the weekend when a gentle cooling trend might edge in from off the Atlantic
  12. Not what I want to hear given that we go away to Cornwall for that week.
  13. Quite right...when I think back to that God awful easterly in March, then this is just heaven in comparison!! :-)
  14. Oh yes....it's the same job as the coldies have in the winter....!! ;-)
  15. I'm probably the boring one here today, but I'd much prefer a day without any rain......storms or otherwise. Just a nice hot sunny day would make a very pleasant change! Have a good one all....whatever you're hoping for!
  16. Well I have to say this beats having to wrap up in about 3 or 4 layers!! Beautiful day!!
  17. Afternoon Chaps! Another beeeeaaauuutiful day. This sunshine's been a long time coming, so it's almost doubly welcome! (Is 'doubly' an actual word?? - No idea!!) Anyway, looks like a very nice week ahead as well according to those who know and post these things on t'other thread. Bet Purga's still looking for his 'cold uppers'!
  18. Out of little acorns and all that eh!! On the positive, there are some very nice orange and red coloured charts on the Model Forum for next week, so fingers crossed they pan out, and dare I say hang about for more than a couple of days!
  19. Eeeesshhhk......very dark, grey, and boy it's cold outside again!!
  20. Isn't local weather bizarre sometimes.....lovely and bright and clear....but with a nip in the air, here at Leatherhead. I drove through a fair bit of mist on the way North from Sussex this morning, but you could tell the sun would burn through. Not sure it'll last mind! What on earth happened to the Beeb Forecast after the 10pm news last night? No one appeared for some reason, all seemed rather make shift!
  21. Yes looking at a few things last night it seems that we're still a month behind...talk of bluebells, oak trees etc etc. They even had Matt Taylor talking about March's rather forgettable 'easterly flow'! Hopefully there's not the wash out they experienced last year!
  22. Gosh it's back to reality today isn't it after a boootiful weekend. On the plus side, 'Springwatch' is back on the telly for the next few weeks!! :-)
  23. I'm sure there's scope for change. Only a week or so ago there was talk of droughts for May. What is that saying about a week being a long time.......!?
  24. One has waited rather a long time to see charts like this, and to use the phrase "BANK"......
