  1. Awooooga just made a big mistake opening the window and popping head out to see how cold and windy it is bbbbbrrrrrr Precipitation still on 8am-11am at present things looking good for the white stuff. I just need a better phone to check the charts and radar, i have to resist not starting up the laptop ....someone put the kettle on
  2. Woke up, couldn't resist a little look out the window ans on here to see what's going on. Oh and some need to remember we are not in Winter yet lol
  3. The Meto app wants to give me light snow at 3, as tempting as it is I hope I'll be zzzzzzz by then!
  4. Did anyone else have that shower about 40mins ago? was almost like hail on higher ground. Certainly starting to feel chilly.as it starts getting clear. Meto have the rain symbols out and no snow or sleet, one thing I hate is freezing rain Seen it before though where it brings a surprise..tick tock tick tock
  5. It's forecast to here Daniel I'm off tonight but will be back about midnight, if I still have my vision I may browse the charts and radar but not sure I'll stay up for it this time ...Late tomorrow morning will be my focus just incase eveything falls into place at the correct time
  6. I see the latest Meto Warning update goes for gales rather than snow http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-3.50&lat=55.50&fcTime=1448064000&regionName=se EDIT: LOL Spooky Alpine Glow ^^^
  7. If the meto forecast symbols are anything to go by ( which 90% time they are not ) then I'm down for light snow at 2am but heavy rain late tomorrow morning. I'm not too fussed with that, the heavy rain can easily turn to snow
  8. Not bad Looby and welcome back I'm looking forward to an afternoon in the pub tomorrow, football results on the tv's coming through and having one eye looking out the window just to see what the weather is doing
  9. Morning all A very interesting 48hrs ahead with almost a touch of everything on offer. Let's see how the outputs perform in the reliable timeframe, good time for making notes and saving charts for future education/research.
  10. If ever a nowcast situation needed demonstrating I think this Weekend will be a very good example. It's going to be a roller coaster, some happy people and some not so, some won't believe how a couple miles can make all the difference. I guess atleast we will all feel the cold ...Who's ready for the ride
  11. I think it's marginal tbh for all in this thread but till it happens who know and certainly more enjoyable watching than of late, Plenty of twists and turns to come and interesting the ian F statement about the Euro4 that you stated. Can't take the meto forecasts too seriously but you have a snow symbol for Suffolk Ski Centre at 18:00 Saturday lol
  12. BUT the word WE would still include you in EA looking at the maps unless I have missed something, you have a better potential? Anyway let's not be pedantic and enjoy it no matter who get's what.
  13. Contribute then and fly the flag for your Region ...simples Many people will go for an IMBY view because they probably know what set-up is needed to deliver for there Region Take Kent for instance, we have our own Microclimate As for East Anglia I'm not sure what you need to go your way but Euro4 wants to bring you snow.
  14. Agree and the good thing is it's still Autumn and the fact we have something to focus on is much better than the last two previous years at this stage....we are ahead of the game already
  15. I'm happy with that at this stage Biggin, plenty of room for upgrades now as we head nearer.
  16. Meto Update:- Yellow Warnings now released but not for our Region yet, to be expected though. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&map=Warnings&zoom=5&lon=-3.50&lat=55.50&fcTime=1447977600&regionName=yh
  17. The next stages of the Euro4 will be interesting as to see how that lot slips down. http://expert-images.weatheronline.co.uk/daten/proficharts/en/euro4/2015/11/19/basis06/ukuk/prty/15112106_1906.gif Ignore these Weather Type GFS charts regarding symbols, all we need to worry about is that is shows juice, the rest will take care of itself imo Dew Points Maybe need to get them 850Hpa's lower if we want to see settling snow keeping in mind where it's coming from if i wanted to b be real fussy at this stage
  18. The only thing I'll have to snuggle is a pint of lager if I can make it to the pub....through the feet of snow lol Note: Not sure what to make of the Euro4 !!
  19. Met Office Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Much colder with sleet or snow showers over the weekend, and Saturday feeling raw across Kent with gale force northerly winds. Monday drier after early frost and possible wintry showers. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast Nice write up by the meto nice to see the introduction of the S word mentioned and also look at that gale force winds lol.... will be bitter!
  20. The Met Office over the next 24hrs will be interesting, I would be surprised if a yellow warning is not issued, simply because with all the rain Friday then the colder temps Ice will be an issue let alone any snow or sleet.
  21. They often mean nothing BUT what I'm happy about also is the meto was showing light snow symbol for 6am then rain at 9an and 12:00 but last updated has switched all 3 to sleet, I find this is often a good sign when even the computer data is unsure if rain sleet or snow because with the temps I cannot see it falling as rain. I'd give this a good 30% chance of coming off, that's quite high compared to some events and although members further West are not getting excited these things can often surprise so don't rule out anything. Perhaps 2010 has spoilt everyone? these boards would of been busy pre-2010 when these type of events are showing, some of our best snowfalls have not come off a NE/E'ly so don't be put off
  22. Literally nail biting stuff, amazing what two lean Autumn/Winter does to one's snow hopes
