  1. Although It's been a very dry Autumn I'd love to know how much rain that gave us in the early hours and this morning, at times it was monsoon like rain. Weekend still looking mild Saturday looking might fine indeed for the time of year, quite spooky actually that almost an exact repeat of the balmy temps last Halloween.
  2. Shame school hours cannot be changed in Winter, start 9.30,am and finish 2.45pm then in late Spring/summer start them 8.45 and finish at 4 to make up any difference. I guess the issue is parents working hours, sadly that doesn't seem to be an issue round here lol
  3. I think I remember the April 2004 event when we had heavy snow on a Sunday night and had to have a day off on the Monday then two weeks later was in shorts in about 19°c so let's hope Nov goes same way within a short space of time.....would be fun & might relax everyone out when it comes to seeking Winter snow
  4. Had to put the light on indoors already, after such a lovely day. It is a shame we can't squeeze an extra hour of light at this time of day imo. A perfect set-up would be dark no earlier than 6.00pm and Light by 7.30am just a shame it can't really happen. BTW the debate about schools and stuff, not sure about your areas but round this way we seem to have more and more of an increase in after school clubs which is great because it keeps them off the streets BUT plenty are walking home in the dark when they attend one of these.
  5. Tomorrow looking very wet indeed but weekend looking very nice Shame it's getting darker earlier and earlier now though, have to put alight on already From the 21st Dec is it 1 or 2 mins a night it starts drawing back out? I can never work that out, always seems to jump every third day..... this was a question my Nephew asked me and felt such an idiot not knowing lol
  6. Lovely afternoon after the clearance of the early morning mist. Mild in the Sun, looks to continue and also looking like another very mild Halloween, I totally got this wrong a couple weeks back, I was sure we was destined for a cold one, just shows how things can flip flop so quickly and also why we shouldn't take long range forecasts too seriously so far out.
  7. Lol Dami... there will still be need for a jumper, I needed mine on this evening :-)
  8. Wow Winter fans, brave call from the meto regarding signs of a Mild Winter and possibly very mild. ..pinch of salt
  9. Lovely start to the working week, lovely and sunny with tomorrow looking much the same and temps a touch higher, rest of the week looking a little wet though but can't complain. Looking like a mild start to November also? If we can get halfway through November with decent mild weather then before we know it it'll be December 21st and the light starts to draw back out It's just a gut feeling but I do think we will see one significant snowfall this Winter and a few dustings at other times one of which Pre-Christmas during the week leading upto the big day and it'll be classed as a " If Only it was " event...keep the faith
  10. Happy Monday all! These Monday's come round way too quick and this Month seems to be flying by, clocks change this weekend remember, depressing but sooner it does sooner Spring arrives again after some Winter snow of course ..... Scotland should start the party very soon regarding snow. The Perfect late Autumn and Winter weather for me would be a mild end to Autumn, some Snow over Christmas but not so much that it messes travel plans, just a teaser for some Decent Snow end of Jan when it's usually a boring time of the month after Christmas etc then end of Feb some nice sunny spells and early spring warmth....not too much to ask?
  11. It's all swings and roundabouts 2009/10 would of been classed as "Winter arrives early "
  12. Morning all (just), yesterday was a gloomy dull chilly day and today doesnt seem like it'll be any better according to the forecast/charts. Looks like we swing to a more Western approach as we head towards next weekend so the feel like temps should improve although I still think the end of the month will put us back into this current pattern. The only real positives at the moment is no damaging winds and also the lack of fog as the roads are bad enough lately!
  13. Yeah it looks very dark as I look out towards the Thames Estuary
  14. Morning all a sunny start but feeling chilly with that NE'ly which is a shame because some good sunny weather currently. The funny season will soon be underway, what's the betting we lose the NE'ly all winter and get the Atlantic Express instead bringing us milder winter temps, wind and plenty of rain ...the curse at present of the " if only it was Jan " I said last week about this Halloween will be totally different from last year temperature wise ( was very balmy ), still looks like heading that way imo quite chilly indeed. Can someone help me with my memory...last October did we not have almost 4 days of constant fog?
  15. Looks quite chilly to me and into the weekend, High pressure yes but that NE'ly back with some rain likely for the Western Area but dry here making it feel quite chilly for us in SE I feel with that breeze. Quite a West/East split. End of the Month could be interesting with hints of some cold weather and perhaps some early white stuff further North even into lower parts....Way to far ahead to get excited though but nearer the time could be an interesting watch. Remember Halloween last year in the South we got to 20*c and it was a very balmy night, could be quite a difference this year!!
  16. Today looks like being a lovely day, just a shame we couldn't have had a few more Sunny Sundays in Summer! Next week not looking bad, feel sorry for anyone thats booked a late holiday in the Med, looks quite wet next week!
  17. Either my belly is telling me it's time for a bacon & egg sandwich or there was just a very slight distant rumble of thunder
  18. Woken by the rain also but have to.be up soon anyway for work :-( , tomorrow night through into Tuesday morning could be interesting. Certainly will feel like Autumn this week, bit of everything on offer. Yesterday was another poor Sunday we can add to the Summer/Early Autumn chart. I reckon Fridays have been the best day sunwise for past couple months
  19. Loveky day here, must of been about 20°c perhaps a little higher in the sun out of any breeze. Perfect conditions really. It's gone cloudy night now though but should clear again later, should be decent weather over the weekend, mid 20s likely
  20. I like the clear cool sunny starts, helps wake me up for the start of the day rather than warm humid muggy sticky sweaty mornings before work even starts
  21. Do you usually come off bad when it's a NW'ly? Does sound like you guys in East Anglia have been unlucky the last few days, luckily they have slipped away into the North Sea and down towards Belgium/Holland keeping us down in the SE better off. Where did you go Daniel? Abroad?
  22. Morning all, slight warm up still on the cards for the SE as we enter August and GfS keeps the rain stalled for a while before the Atlantic starts throwing early Autumn at us by the middle of the month. Time flies..... White Christmas watch soon
