This to me is classic August as we well know. I always feel September and even October these days offer better weather and it can be a nice round-off to any Summer we have had.
Certainly feels cool today but the showers have been impressive.
We had rain for most of yesterday evening, which truely ends the drought. Feels a lot fresher this morning with that damp feel. Not sure how quick grass etc will respond to the rain though, any thoughts?
My wife reported torrential rain in Newcastle but by home we had a faint drizzle which didn't even wet the ground.
I guess that counts the dry spell over. Dark early tonight too, complete contrast to weeks past. Feel a bit depressed.
Looks like the parched land will be a thing of the past and something we may not see for several decades again!
Considering this is the 'cooler' day it is a stunner. More so than yesterday with bright blue skies again and the heat of the sun is warm. Less sticky than yesterday.
I think that may be similar in Stoke as we missed that torrential rain that Birmingham had, but my memory is hazy now. If so, it was certainly just a small shower.
I have forgotten as well. I vaugely remember there was meant to be a break down which this far north never happened but in Birmingham it did rain. Therefore I suspect we are approaching 3 weeks since we had a drop of rain.
I'll admit, this morning the low cloud was extensive as soon as you left the A500 onto the M6. To the North a cloudless start but it seems to have burned off very quickly today.
