  1. Same here....there is too much Doom and gloom on here! haha. I would not be complaining about cool nights after what we have had to put up with previous June's.
  2. Just like to say Thank you to GIbby for ALL the time and effort he puts in consistently with his reports of models. If I am in a rush and want a catch up then they are the perfect read. Cheers buddy.
  3. Cheers Steve, a brilliant post that helps us learn from the current charts. Thanks for posting.
  4. Just missed us, CC was be able to to confirm more but woke up just to nothing. Maybe it did snow but it didn't stick if so. This spell just sums up just how tricky it is to get any decent falls locally. We always say, "It only it were January..." well it is and it still wasn't enough. A lot of the time the stuff has been marginal at best, sleet then snow then sleet etc, even at night. Most nights weren't even cold enough for the snow to stick or when it was very little fell and had melted by the morning anyway. As Crewe Cold said I have never seen more than 10cm here, even in the 2010 etc hayday. It is easy to look back with tinted spectacles but the same was true a lot back then. I remember a slider low coming in and everything was bob on conditions wise...ended up that frozen rain/sleet variety. It's not I am on a particular downer this morning but just accepting the fact that once again so much potential just unfortunately (for us) didn't work out. *Edit* Some flurries just started. lol
  5. Hi Polar. Where do you get those charts from? I can't find them anywhere? Cheers mate
  6. Just checked the cars and still frozen with the snow/hail on top, like I said, bodes well for the band moving down the Irish Sea
  7. Definitely, It I wasn't busy all weekend I would love a snow treck over to our east. lol. Yes, well I reckon we are in for a good chance of a dusting tonight with the Cheshire Gap showers and the stuff moving down the Irish Sea... another night for the radars!
  8. That's exactly what I thought. When I got back about 40 mins ago i checked the top of my neighbours car and it was frozen, even my car said 1 degree. Bodes well for later.
  9. Been in Crewe all evening, heavy sleety snow showers on and off. Drove back to Nantwich and was a lot dryer and had started to freeze over (something that hasn't happened on other nights) and we have just had a nice snow/hail shower and has left a covering on the frozen cars etc.
  10. These are for 9pm tonight....yes marginal but look ok for snow. Dew points at or below 0 and -5 850's.
  11. Looking at the models it looks like the conditions are favourable for snow from later this evening and overnight, but the MO seem to think from Saturday day onwards. I hope they are wrong even though I feel they will be correct! lol
  12. Why is it all the potential snow events are always at stupid o'clock....I'm falling asleep at my computer but just want to wait another 30 mins or so to see what happens!
  13. It does look like a direct hit *if* it stays on the same track.....but could still be rain. lol
  14. I kinda want these sleety showers to move away now so we can get some cooling time before the PL moves in.
  15. Very wet snow/sleet in Nantwich. Such a flippin' shame it wasn't a tad cooler...
  16. This chart gives me a bit of hope for this evening.... dropping temps and some Cheshire Gap showers that hit my region before that more organised band hits around midnight...
  17. My students went mental when it started, eventually let them leave a bit early as it was pointless trying to get them to work. Was really suprised how easily and quick it stuck. Looking at the wind direction I am quite optimistic in regards to more showers this afternoon and more importantly the evening (colder temps). Plus we may just catch the edge of that low pressure zipping down.
  18. What makes a class of young adults squeal and stop doing work.... SNOW!!!!! Going lighter now but snowed heavily for 30 mins or so. May get some more afternoon/tonight?
  19. Though I agree there isn't meant to be any warm sector, It is funny that in the past two hours the temps have gone up here a degree and now its sleety rain instead? Weird.
  20. ....not us! hahah. To be honest you lot above us are in for a lot of fun. I do still expect to get some snow though, though not much. Good luck all! P.s Really shocked to have snow in our last shower, wouldn't have even noticed it if one of my students hadn't pointed it out. Wasn't expecting it so soon.
  21. LOL!!! I remember that night too. My friend lived with me in Nantwich but worked in Manchester, her school was shut for a week. CC Fancy a beer one night? I need some more weather friends to vent my frustrations out at Here Here!!!! I love watching these. I remember watching a snow storm last year too, or was it earlier this season?
  22. You're right, that was my concern, but at least north Cheshire should be in the firing line, it won't take much shift to deliver for us too. Though some computer forecasts have showers down the Cheshire Gap (in the MO thread), so fingers crossed.
  23. This is why I am suprised the MO haven't included Cheshire etc in their Warnings? It's a bit IMBY but was wondering why in a northwesterly we have been missed off?
  24. Ahhhh. Here comes the Snow.... seems for most it starts off as rain/sleet and then turns to snow on the back edge! *Edit* and it stops! hahahaha.
  25. Sleeting here in Nantwich, not rain, not snow but proper sleet! Come at the flippin' warmest part of the day too!!! People talk about 2010 etc being perfect but this happened SO many times back then, brilliant uppers and dew points (and below freezing temps) yet still sleet! You really have to laugh!
