  1. Can we all make a promise not to tell any friends, families or co-workers until it is absolutely set in stone! As we all know what happens if we do tell them.. I am refraining until mid-week at least!
  2. I can back Aaron up ?. I live 15 mins away now and the difference is massive. Will give you updates tomorrow morning. Not expecting much here if I'm honest. But we shall see. We still have a cover in places from last night's snow.
  3. It's just started pouring down here again, this random belt just keeps giving? So random. haah. Can't wait to see Crewe tomorrow morning for work.
  4. @CreweCold The radar is showing a intensifying on the back edge again over Crewe? Is it still snowing?
  5. What a bonkers day of weather emotions... Anyways, ended with a massive high as get back to Crewe to see my folks and the temp had dropped to freezing and it had started to snow, was lovely to see. Then driving home to Halmer End was just stunning, as I got higher up the snow changed to powder snow as the temps dropped to -1, it just has a different feel to it, there is a kinda mist in the air with it. Anyways, get home expecting whatever it was that caused the random fall of snow to stop and instead found that it was going to stop a while. So wrapped up and went for a walk...absolutely stunning. Temps below freezing, the snow twinkling like diamonds (for me, a sign of minus temperatures). Snowed for another 3 hours... Some of the snow was already there but the top up was a lot. The pics wouldn't upload direct to here so here is a link to them. It was amazing to see outside decorations with actual snow on them.
  6. Omg, I left Crewe at 4pm (popped in to see parents on my way home) and it had just hit 0 Degrees and the snow has started... Any more pics?
  7. Sorry, won't let me delete the quote. Lol Anyways, the apps (yes, I know they ain't the weather gods) and they say snow then nothing then snow again later? Is that some random intensifying or another blob of precipitation? Out of loop as away from laptop and my charts and bookmarks ?
  8. Really? Amazing, great stuff. Looks like it's at or below freezing all day there too. Can't wait to see it. Please keep us updated.
  9. I am really surprised Crewe is still in the Amber area considering the shift southwards and what seems to be only light stuff falling? @CreweCold what's your thoughts on the warning? I'm driving back at dinnertime so that will be interesting.
  10. I can confirm that is true. Colwyn Bay has light snow and a nice little covering, which is amazing for being on the coast.
  11. I love this thread and this isn't a personal dig at anyone but the personalisation of the slider position is starting to become a bit frustrating in here, yes discuss it's projected movement but not just an emotional response. Personally I don't want it to slide any further south as I personally will miss out but I save my frustrations for the regional thread. I am totally up for the excitement of where it will end up, as for me the positioning has been interesting to say the least, but the "Yey, it's moving south" is getting tiresome...as I'm sure the "Yey, it's moving north" would be the same too if that were the case. This forum is fantastic for learning and have learned so much since I joined but I think I might have to give the thread a miss for 24 hours just for my own sanity.
  12. In my head i always assume any sliders will miss me otherwise you are normally more disappointed than happy. Yes, at the moment we are in the warning I remember a few years ago a stalling front stalled to our west at last min causing us to get a dusting rather than a proper dumping we had been warned about. The only frustrating part about the MO thread is the personalisation of the slider, "It's better for me etc". It should be more just comment on it's position. Some models have shifted it south but others still keep it north so who the frigg knows! haha. Normally it does tend to shift south but lots of models still keep it quite far up north.
  13. The EURO4 18z looks amazing for Cheshire! 6am Midday 6pm Midnight
  14. Finally snowing!!! Be it lightly. Sticking and not melting to the usual spots ( Bin lids, cars parked a while etc) melting still on road and pavement etc.
  15. Can't remember seeing a forecast - be it automated - for the area in many a year.
  16. Great stuff buddy!!! Let's hope you have another 7 hours of it overnight!
  17. Yeah, even higher than that I think! haha. If you look east from Crewe you can see Mow Cop but to the right are some smaller hills, I'm one of those! haha. Last winter was my first and it was a super duper winter but that one northwesterly we had gave us a good covering, whilst in Crewe it was slushy. This was the morning at the top of Alsagers Bank (5 mins walk from me) early the next morning. Hoping for the same tonight! haha
  18. Here was taken in January this year, stuck easily and with speed... https://www.instagram.com/p/BPLj5R-h7Fx/?taken-by=benjaminstubbs Soon as the heavy showers come in then they should stick quite easily, might be early hours though.
  19. Hey @CreweCold! How are you? Here we are again!! haha. Tonight if goes to plan should be excellent for us and selfishly especially me. I live near Audley and the extra altitude helped last winter with the quick fall of snow we had last winter. To put people's mind at ease, it only literally took a few heavy showers to create a covering last year. If the track of Sunday's low stays on track it could be a memorable event, not even thinking about it as it could easily be too far north or south.
  20. Hopefully this will be us soon... https://twitter.com/DeeoreRT/status/938890749218840578
