Everyone is happy again in the MOD thread, will this last for more than 0.50 minutes
corrected it for you
BBC was brave enough to put an Xmas day chart up this morning on the news. As suspected... mild mild mild

I've given up with what the weather might be on Xmas day. Lets face it; up in the morning, unwrap prezzies, xmas breakfast, start dinner prep, dinner time, snooze, drink, buffet tea, snooze, bed..... probably not even seen out to know what the weather is doingย

Ha ha, I use way too many abbreviations but I would never not explain them to someone if they were struggling.ย
see, thats my problem, if i write a report in work i would give a full meaning of an abbreviation the first time i use it and then the reader knows from then on what that abbreviation means. notย expect the reader to know the meaning immediately. just seems like common sense to do that to me

Can you please share this post in the model waffle thread, it will save people from wasting their time hunting for non-existent snow lol
Last time i posted there i was shot down in flames for asking posters to elaborate a bit more and stop using abbreviations without explaining them. never again!ย
I am quite a literate person, but some of the stuff posted in there is complete and utter tripe sometimes.ย

There is major arousal in the MOD thread, someone has just posted a chart of a big upgrade, whatever floats your boat.
water normally. but that usually means rain, or in winter, melted snow before it hits the ground

ย It's beginning to look it's not like Christmas - Damp, grey, cool, and dark... not the best of weather run-ups towards xmas and in my very novice weather forecasting head i reckon xmas day will be much the same (IMBY) as what today day has been*
*based on many years seeing how the trend always goes in a mild direction when you least want it to.ย

Although my drive home from Shefford along the M1 seemed more windy than i was expecting So I think it was more Eastwards than the warnings gave.

So what are the odds ? not that Iโm likely to have a flutter or a flurry for that matter !ย
It was frosty last light but by this morning itโs just another damp dull December day thatโs only fit for watching Christmas movies and gift wrapping so thatโs what Iโll be doing, was supposed to be going to Stratford upon Avon Christmas market but feeling under the weather in more ways than one !ย
ยDon't forget to wrap my one up
Hope you feel better soon ย

Some superb frost patterns on the cars around here. Will be a hard frost by the morning if the temps don't rise overnight.

I doubt he could be much less technical. ย If people are struggling then there are learning areas on the forum and in addition, uncle Google is usually very helpful.ย
yes mate, i don't disagree. just wish some of the more experienced posters would make reading and thus interpreting posts easier for the lees knowledgeable. I'd much rather read posts where i don't need to wander off to other resources to interpret them, just my opinion. and having been around a few years now i understand the frustrations of seeing things posted and not fully appreciating what the poster is relaying because of the technicalities of the post. as a degree qualified engineer i am not lacking in understanding of things, yet the weather often is so complicated at times.
hey ho, time to stay out of the models thread again ...

What they mean? Ie the op the det run and the control run are similar..They are 2 runs from a possible 30 runs on gfs and as much as 50 on the ecm. With each run being started from a slightly different variation in initial conditions..the det tending to be higher resolution with the op 2nd..The mean is roughly an average of all ensembles in the run.
eh??? in english for us lesser educated weather folk please.ย
Not criticizing you but for the novices here fuller explanations, less abbreviations, more depth in posts would help immensely. I've been here long enough to understand most posts, but i know how hard it is when i first started interpreting posts that for beginners it's a nightmare.ย no offence intended
