  1. As much as I am loving this gorgeous warm weather, and know it won't last until November lol,....we do need a bit of rain and a little cooldown. August will deliver hot weather as it usually does.
  2. Yep. I remember being at school and it was soooooo hot in the clasrooms. All of us wanted to go outside to sunbathe or play football all day. Teachers said no. Luckily my Geography teacher let us have our lesson outside and ironically we covered the weather outside as it was part of the GCSE syllabus! The summer was nothing special...I remember it being humid most of the summer holidays and a bit boring to be frank.
  3. Yes and fat girls wearing tight tops ewwwwww. Its good when its a fit shirtless bloke ;-)Im a bit bulky myself but at least I have modesty. The few people from South Asia/Middle East in WSM at least have decency.
  4. 1993, 1998, 2007 and 2012 easily the worst summers I have ever experienced (I was only 3 when the hideous 88 summer occured so no memory). 1993 I remember being bored most if not all of the summer holiday due to it being horrible (plus we were moving from a highrise to a house with garden). Mum gave up on August Bank Holiday and took me and my sister to Rhyl. Rhyl being a naff place it was cloudy and VERY breezy that day. Felt like November. We just hated it. I might have dreamt this but I remember my ninth birthday in late November having snow! A month of rain a la June 2012/July 2007/August 1993 is the worst thing to have in summer plus maxima of 12-15c.
  5. Ironic considering we've had six below average months, with the coldest spring in 51 years that our summer looks to be potentially the warmest in ten years! 2013 has broke the curse.
  6. Summer has it's negative's like any season. Looking through my flat window this afternoon, an old lady fell due to heat exahustion. She had to be taken away in an ambulance and was with her grand-daughter and four great-grandchildren
  7. I feel it will be a bad winter. The end of November, it will be VERY cold. 2010/11 winter looks likely to be a repeat...with a hint of 1994/95.
  8. I think this will be the year of Indian summer. Come November, things will be nasty and miserable imo,
  9. I thought June would have been at least AVERAGE as opposed to BELOW AVERAGE. Has the weekend 22/23rd of June dragged it down plus the cool nights?
  10. What can I say? A GORGEOUS warm spell at the start of the month, unfortunately been sunburnt a few times this month lol Downers have been the two bad weekends of 15/16 and 22/23 - especially the latter - felt like a weekend in November. Not impressed with the 13th either - VERY windy day. Overall - a decent month, perhaps the best summer month since August 2010. If it all comes true for July re: heatwave, we've a decent summer. My ranking: 8/10
  11. I was only eight at the time but I remember 1993 as a very poor summer. Spent most of it indoors as it was very wet. Never forgot a day trip to Rhyl with my Mum and my oldest sister on August Bank Holiday that year. It was so dull and cool. Felt like November instead of August! 1994 - Always reminds me of my other sister being born. That was a wonderful summer to me bar some dodgy days. So warm!
  12. I think a 2004/05 repeat could be likely - 2006/1976 - I dunno...I think I'd become a cold lover if we had a 1976 repeat lol
  13. 16.7c - I think we've an average month on the cards.
  14. Thanks Frosty - so a washout weekend on the cards? Oh well...we're used to it. Wouldn't mind a holiday to the Balkans...Slovenia looks VERY warm.
  15. Does this mean unsettled and bad weather and low temps e.g. in the region of 12-15c?
  16. 25c+!!!! I hope this does happen. Nice to see the South West gets some proper warm
  17. 07/08 did have nice Junes and decent August's but I can see 2013 following the same. As you mentioned mushymanrob....the days of a 95/03 outcome are long gone. I think average as best is the way.
  18. Today felt like an average day in November, not a day in June. A VERY chilly breeze here. This is so like 12 months ago.... As for writing summer off.....not just yet. I am confident it will pick up - but I can't see a 2012 outcome. Perhaps a 2007/8 one?
  19. Something seriously wrong with our weather here. I think the odd nice spell is the best we can realistically hope for.
  20. The way June is turning out with these models, this is the first time since then I've seen it with a prologoned hot spell.
  21. If this happens, this looks VERY promising. We were discussing Summer 2004 and I think this os similar.
  22. 17-20c does me good. Plus we do need the rain, so I'm happy with that. Hope it gets hot again at the end of June/July.
