  1. At least one thing has come out of this cool spring with a boosted fruit boom.
  2. It said on BBC Weather this is the coldest spring since 1979 so far. Does the average for Spring 2013 compare to that?
  3. I was only 10 in 1995, but that was one hot summer!!
  4. Even if stays average throughout June, that's something
  5. Didn't the 1984 summer go onto September? My Mum was married to my Dad the end of August 84 (Should never have married him)and said it was boiling! To add...Mum did say 1988 was crap too....as bad as 2012!
  6. What was that year like? I remember my Mum saying it was a poor summer.
  7. Cheers Milhouse Perhaps 2013 will hopefully be like 1947? Even 1979 will do me. Funny how people remember summers for the good, but in reality it was not.
  8. I would not be surprise if we get a repeat of 1962-3 winter....it's had to happen.
  9. The Daily Star is a comic! If it isn't spin on the weather, it's who is in the Big Brother House or focus on Michelle Keegan's mammary glands.
  10. June will be tough to call, but even if we get a summer with 18-23c with the odd 25c plus would do AS LONG AS IT'S DRY!
  11. 16-18c....though my flat seems to be hot intensely! I remember during the very bad cold spell in early 2010, my bedroom was 9C!!!!! I had no central heating in that house, and aside from having the heater on before I went to bed, and a hot water bottle, the room was ice-cold. Getting up for work was like living in the arctic!
  12. Unrelated but what were the summers like in 1947, 1963 and 1979 which had VERY cold winters? I remember my Grandad saying that the 47 + 63 ones were VERY warm especially in the Midlands. My Mum said 1979 had a good summer, and she was 12-13 at the time.
  13. Don't remind me of June 2012 - I remember days of 13c in the second week of June, coming home from work drenched and a saturated garden! There was a warm spell the last few days of the month, but I was sick in bed!!
  14. Nope - been off since Mid April and not felt the cold at all. At night we don't notice it (we've still got a few blankets).
  15. There is room for optimism. Even 2006 was a duff May.
  16. This is from The Sun so I would take it with a pinch of salt. On top of that it says next ten days....erm that is still May. Do not believe the date on that paper. ODIOUS right-wing rag.
  17. Was that the June it snowed? I see to remember May/June 1991 as ropey....then a warm summer. It will pick up I am confident.
  18. In the Midlands it was terrible. I remember May being like this, but the second half TERRIBLE - The Bank Holiday weekend was a washout. I was drenched on the Sunday attending an audition which my hair and clothes were SOAKED through. June was hit and miss, July awful and August was better, but there was nice weather in September and October...surprise, surprise.
  19. I remember going into Birmingham City Centre on a day off from work, to hand a parcel to my Dad - we were DRENCHED!! I was using plastic bags, brollies, ANYTHING to shelter from the rain! 2012 was the re-incarnation of 2007.....perhaps 2013 is the re-incarnation of 2008 which was not bad.
  20. It's not a proper newspaper - even if May did cool down....it'd be brief. Owned by the same group as the Daily Express.
  21. A 1995 summer would be ideal, but the likelihood of that happening, I don't know. I still think it'll be a 2006/2010 type summer.
  22. Typical....shame you can't burn away arctic air in summer. It'll probably pick up/change again. Still think it'll be a good summer.
