  1. its a great change halloween and bonfire night are coming up it would be silly if it still got dark at 9 or 10pm now, anyway even in november it will still be daylight all day long, people just happen to finish work when it gets dark that's all
  2. it feels like a big event cos we've had bland rubbish for weeks
  3. never mind it's only a five month wait for mildies and joe public till it's spring again, we've had 7 months of mild/warm/hot weather, today was another summer like day i can't remember what a dull, cool wet day is like, it hasn't been cold for about 10 months and even then it was only about 5c or 6c, it's been 21 months since i last saw snow and now there are signs that we might see more warm weather later next week yet again, of course ask job public and they will say the uk is always wet and chilly, it's the biggest myth i've ever heard
  4. couldn't agree more this run of above average temps is doing my head in now, only august was a cool month it feels like it hasn't been cold for about 18 months, today was another warm day here and it still feels like summer, i hope we have 6 months of below average temps to balance things out but that won't happen, it annoys me when mildies and job public complain about a cold spell that lasts for about 10 days when they say "this has gone on for too long when is it going to warm up" the mild/warm season is a long season longer than people think, in just over 5 months time it will be spring again and autumn hasn't even properly started yet, autumn and winter usually take a lot longer to get going than spring and summer do and are shorter seasons imo even though technically all the seasons are 3 months long, autumn rarely starts in september and winter rarely starts in december but spring usually starts in march and summer usually starts in june
  5. it's only just past mid september, if its still like this mid october then it's fine to moan
  6. people wouldn't be out after 10pm though would they, BST+1 may be beneficial for electricity reasons but that's all, anyway i want evenings to feel like evenings i don't still want baking hot sun on me at 7-8pm, i don't have problems sleeping in light anyway, if we were on BST+1 now it would be dark when i get up, albeit it would soon get light but in october it would be dark during rush hour esp in the north and west and in scotland and northern ireland
  7. i don't want BST in winter as feb will feel like a spring month if it gets dark at 6-7pm. but with the scots voting no hopefully we will still use GMT
  8. arguing is good as long as it doesn't go on for too long. how anybody can complain about the weather we are having atm baffles me, we had a mild autumn last year, a mild winter albeit wet, a mild spring, a warm summer and now autumn has started warm as well Edit plus we had a warm summer last year as well
  9. it's early autumn in spain as well isn't it
  10. even worse when joe public moan about snow as if it's a regular occurrence when in reality it snows like once or twice a year, i admit we might only see 30c+ once or twice a year but 25c is more than hot enough anyway, and 20c is plenty warm enough
  11. very sunny and warm here yet again mushy, it's been warm since 10am and will stay warm till about 7pm, that's more than a "few hours" i actually think warm weather is underestimated in this country we don't see much wall to wall sun but a lot of the time the weather is better and warmer than people think, only from nov to mid march is when it is cold or chilly during the daytime really, though northerners might disagree
  12. seasons don't stop when we are at work either and we still get 14 hours of daylight, it don't stop people complaining about the "shorter days" though, i'd give anything for "a few hours" of snow in the afternoon in winter
  13. it was only chilly for a couple of hours this morning and it's only just getting dark now so you will only see a couple of hours of darkness before you go to bed funny how you haven't mentioned that, i don't count the darker evenings as autumn like though, as i said before in lots of hot countries it gets dark at 6pm or 7pm
  14. another fine summer like day i wish march was winter like but rarely ever is, the cold dark season is such a short season we has weather like today 6 months ago
  15. it didn't look very autumnal in america watching the US open yesterday and it get's darker earlier there than it does here
  16. it's still warm out there now, get out there and enjoy it mushy instead of posting on here all the time saying summer is over, if it was snowing at this time of the day in march i'd be happy
  17. there's nothing autumnal about the weather right now, it's sunny, calm and pleasant, what more do you want? even in a month's time it might still be 20c spot on
  18. when it's dark whilst im having my breakfast in the morning and dark when having my dinner in the evening then i'd say the days are significantly shorter, greenland and iceland's days are significantly shorter compared to 2 months ago
  19. not really, it is still three weeks till the equinox, plus it takes about 30 mins to get dark after sunset and it's light 20 mins before sunrise, we still get about 11-12 hours of light till about mid october, it's not till november the nights are a lot longer than days really
  20. most of the general public want BST in winter but i think they are a bit naive and if we did stay on BST they probably wouldn't like it
  21. still not completely dark even at 9 30pm, i hope the scots don't go independent cos we will probably stay on BST time in winter and go BST+1 in summer
  22. the GFS 18z looks very warm to me, it will only be early september next week 28c is easily possible, you can still sit outside in your garden till about 8pm, and if you have lights in your garden you can stay out as long as you want, there isn't rule that says when it's dark you have to go to bed or sit inside and be miserable, if you have to work till late then that's your own problem if you don't work you have all day long to enjoy the weather, if snow is forecast at 3am in winter i can't stay up to watch it sadly, i don't like setting alarms for 3am
  23. i've forgotten what snows looks like its been nearly 20 months since i last saw snow
  24. you take nature far too seriously, are you telling me you won't enjoy 25c next week cos a few leaves are going a bit yellow, i didn't get anything in march 2013 but im sure people that got 2ft of snow didn't give a toss about the daffodils and blossom on trees, anyway next week isn't nailed on yet we might get an easterly and it could be dull for eastern areas
