  1. frosty weather only happens at night when people are asleep, a bit like when people moan in september that its too cool and dark in the evenings to enjoy the weather cos they have to work during the day when its 25c for example i've had a few BBQs and sunbathed a few times in september as the sun isn't as strong which is a good thing not a bad thing, i don't ever remember walking or sledging in the snow in march, anyway FI still looks good for a pleasant spell of summer like weather next week, i actually enjoy warm sunny weather in september as the days aren't as long and it quickly cools down in the evenings unlike in summer, plus the light isn't as bright and harsh
  2. there is a clear difference, snow in march is usually wasted esp here because it rarely stays below freezing all day, i've seen far more summer like weather in sept than winter like weather in march
  3. yeah but it would still be getting light before 7am now, i agree though i don't like dark mornings, but i love dark evenings
  4. thank god we aren't on BST +1 as it would still be getting dark at about 9:30pm
  5. why is it wasted in early september? because it gets dark a bit earlier now? it gets dark before 8pm in turkey you know and its 40c there
  6. eugene is spot on this weather has been great, pleasant with sunshine and showers, people look at the charts and if they don't see a big fat high on top of us they presume its gonna be wet, dull and cool when that's not always the case, it may be a bit cool in the evenings if it's windy but not during the day, we've had 2 months of warm summery weather i'd bite your hand off for 2 months of wintry weather in winter, i guess we get spoilt i'll probably end up moaning if feb is mild even if dec and jan are cold and snowy, which it won't be cos snow is far more rare than warmth, humidity and sunshine, it's 19 months and counting since i last saw snow i won't have to wait 19 months till the next warm/hot sunny day
  7. we've still only lost about an hour of daylight in the evenings im not satisfied yet
  8. does windy weather make it autumnal? they get hurricanes in the america in summer, its windy here but it's 19c so can't call it autumnal really, even though its not really summary either
  9. but we don't always get average temps do we, occasionally we will get well below average temps in summer like 15c and occasionally we will get well above temps like 30c, so if he expects to see 30c in august why does he not expect to see 15c when the average is 22c? in winter i expect to see 0c which is well below average but i also expect to see 12-13c which is well above average and unless those above temps go on for too long i won't think its strange to see double figure temps in winter as it's common in this country
  10. why is 15c in august despicable? if you expect it to be 30c which is 8c above average for august then you should expect temps can go 7-8c below average too, i hate mildness in winter but if it's 13c in december i wouldn't be shocked cos i know temps can go well above average at times just like they can go well below, in September we might get one or two days of 12c and one or two days of 25c the average temp for sep is 18c, btw this week temps have only been a little bit below average here, albeit it hasn't been that sunny, you don't live far from me so it can't have been really bad where you are
  11. really? it was 20c here today and it's supposed to be 21c tomorrow and then 20c on friday and saturday, 20c isn't what you would call autumnal, the charts always look worse than the reailty, and although it get's dark at 8:30pm now it's getting dark at 7 30pm in Morocco, i wonder if they think its autumn springlike weather does happen in mid feb though
  12. i love driving late at night, the roads are calm, no sun blazing in your face, and the car doesn't feel like an oven when you get in it
  13. when we have cool, wet windy weather in may or june no one says it feels like autumn they just moan the weather is horrible, but just cos we are in august it's easy to get carried away and think it's like autumn as autumn is next month, right now it don't feel like autumn as its 19c here
  14. yes it only felt like autumn yesterday evening to me as it was quite cool, the strong winds we are having right now doesn't make it autumnal they get hurricane's in america in summer i bet they don't say it feels like autumn
  15. agree, i often see summer like weather in may and september say temps of 21-25c, i rarely see snow in November and March though, some will argue that it's too cool in the evenings in may and september to enjoy the weather, but i could argue it's sometimes too warm for snow to settle during the middle of the day in november and march, and even in the winter months sometimes
  16. gotta admit it felt quite cool when i was out a couple of hours ago, i feel a bit sorry for summer fans that this cool weather has come right in peak holiday season but they shouldn't forget the good weather we had in june and july and maybe expecting August to be the same is just too much of an ask, if 2 out of the 3 winter months were below average i'd want them to be December and February
  17. it's windy here atm, but its dry, warm and sunny, so much for this autumnal like weather we are mean't to be having
  18. you told us what? that you thought we wouldn't get a 1976 style summer? kudos to you, well im happy with the cooler spell coming up this week it's about time, who knows it might get hot again in a couple of weeks it's easily possible you know
  19. yeah but its still getting light at about 5am, when its getting light at 8am in winter that's better, but even that is still early if you think about it
  20. and another horrible humid day here, we are long overdue a cool spell now
  21. we've still only lost about 45 mins of light in the evening since the solstice, but from now on the sun sets 2 mins earlier everyday, thank goodness we aren't on BST +1
  22. i'd be very happy if i had 7 days with maxes of 0c or below this winter, though i won't enjoy a blizzard in mid feb if blossom is on the trees and the daffs are out (sarcasm) btw it hardly rained here at all last night, people see a bit of low pressure on the charts and always assume it's gonna be a washout, more rain is forecast for friday but we'll see if it actually rains properly which it hasn't done here for quite sometime now
  23. 22c is the average temp for august, if it was 22c in spring it would be well above average, this is plenty warm enough for me, it's still 2 months until we hit the cool dark season sadly
  24. the reality is it won't be day after day of rain, it will be a band or two of rain lasting a couple of hours then it will brighten up, why people overreact to charts like this is beyond me, there's still plenty of summer left, as i've said before september is not really a proper autumn month unless we get a well below average september, since when are temps ranging from 15c- 21c which is what we usually get in september autumn like? it's more like a spring month really
  25. we need the rain anyway, if we just had a few weeks of cold weather in winter and the first two days of feb were mild it would be daft of me to moan
