  1. Keeping the Surrey/West Sussex border flag flying. Light snow for the last hour, occasionally moderate. We don’t fare well in this locale with these set ups but it’s giving it a go.
  2. I’m referring by to the second part of their long range outlook. Which clearly signals the *possibility* of a retrogressing Scandi high leading to a mobile and unstable easterly regime courtesy of associated troughing into Southern Europe.
  3. Indeed - which makes their bullishness all the more surprising. And encouraging. Long way off but clearly strong signals.
  4. Now THAT is a snow shower. Not seen anything like that here since 2010 (that includes 2018).
  5. That’s like saying the 1998 World Cup was England’s best performance since 1994
  6. I get that. Something special though about seeing a heavy dump of snow on the actual street where you live.
  7. Should’ve said ‘we’... Mind you, how bad are Burnley??! It’s doable.
  8. I tell you what though - it is proper brass monkeys out there. Fair play, that doesn’t happen too often with precipitation.
  9. Just dropping briefly in. CURRENT snow depths? I can assure you that where it says ‘17’ it is closer to 3. Give or take the odd local variation. So let’s say between 1-5.
  10. Just typed in Ian McCaskill Feb 1991 into YouTube to give myself a fix of a forecast from a proper old school easterly that puts this tame affair (aside from the few locales that struck gold) to shame. Not just a regional but a national event. That was the stuff.
  11. The MetO updated mid and long range says nothing that suggests a return to typically mild conditions for this neck of the woods. I suspect more chances to come over the next month, although for my locale we need a whole lot of luck into March and a slightly different set up to this one, which is really only favouring localised parts of this region overall, let’s be honest. Unless light snow and snizzle is your thing, in which case it’s been boom time for most!
  12. It’s like permanently repeatedly opening the front door to someone who hasn’t rung the bell
  13. Hammering?! I can cope with snow reports across the region when it’s Essex or Suffolk but not when it’s one mile away!
  14. Light snow all morning in Horley, giving a dusting. GP, re your earlier post re MetO app temps, the app has shown no snow all morning whilst it has been lightly snowing all morning. iPhone app on the money. Also find that to be a much better trend indicator re temps. As far as apps go of course...
